Frank Schlinatra has delivered once again. Whether it be assaulting two innocent bystanders in 1972, or committing mass homicide in 1999, "schlatt" always finds a way to come and come hard. I can still hear the souls of the departed, they're getting louder and louder by the day. But that's besides the point. This time, he's cumming to town with copious amounts of drugs βοΈ and Christmas Spirit π
The Frank Sinatra influence is clear to see, and y'know what, i ... read more
SHE DOME ON MY CHROME TILL I KOPIA π₯ π₯ π₯
EDIT: I'm speechless ngl. Sensational.
My bad Tyler, didn't mean to make your paranoid like that π
What about we settle this over a candle-lit meal, you and I? π₯Ί
(drop the album flower boy)
I can't hate this song, no matter what. Yes, the songwriting feels uninspired, sometimes nonsensical even. The production is pretty eh. But I've got way too many memories tied to singing this along to this with my dad during road trips. Even if the whole world trashes on this song, me and my pops are gonna defend it.
I have no idea what to expect from this, but my god, this better be peak.
LIVE TRACK-BY-TRACK REVIEW π₯:
1. Save The Saviour: Ok, this is already way different from what I had in mind. Actually, y'know what, I had nothing in mind for this project so anything would've been surprising. The bass hits HARD on this one. James Blake outperforms Yachty in this one however.
2. In Grey: Immediately I felt as though that Yachty's presence in this track outshone the previous track by a ... read more
Finally, after all of this time, I've listened to the greatest album ever. The Life of Pablo.
Well, first of all, I'd just like to note that Ye sounds different here... I can't put my finger on why, but I'm sure that's just a case of the revolutionary experimentation usually present in his work. It took a while for me to get used to the sudden vocal switch, but when I finally did, I fully realized his genius. As for the production, I'd say that this is the most ... read more
Production so good, it makes me excuse the cringy punchlines and meme sound effects.
Some notable highlights include:
"Call me Pillsbury cause I got the dough" and "MFs be doomed."
Mm, yes. This floor here is made out of floor.
But seriously, the hard-hitting beats do so much in order for me to look past the subpar writing. This is the type of album you just have to turn your brain off to when listening and just have fun. The project definitely peaks with its first three ... read more
pack your bags, bring the trash out with you, this shit is a wrap.
Don't get me wrong, the diss was absolutely fire, but... couldn't they have just let the first beat roll on for another minute or so? That shit sounded so beautiful π
"Foreshadowing is a narrative device in which a storyteller gives an advance hint of what is to come later in the story."
Kendrick Lamar is the greatest rapper of our generation. I say and mean this with the utmost certainty.
EDIT (Post-Apology): Jesus Christ, this project is gonna age out like milk under the sun.
The way I audibly said "oh no" when the beat dropped on Fever. Ain't no way Cole is pulling a Drake and getting into his RnB bag.
It's pretty fair to assume that this project was suddenly dropped in response to Kendrick's showstopping, Billboard chart-topping feature on Metro Boomin and Future's album "WE DON'T TRUST YOU," and with that single minute-long verse, the entirety of the ... read more
If you take a shot for everytime they say "hentai" or "doujin," let's just say that you wouldn't make it to see the light of day afterwards.
Positives: uhhhhhhh... there was less "FBI open up" type shit on this project then there was on Hentai Dude's last album... that's an improvement, I guess?
Negatives: it's torture, need I explain further?
Why, yes I listened to this before Pablo, ye and 808s. Why, of course I need to set better priorities.
Ayo, MTB dropped yesterday, and no one told me?
Here we have the long-awaited (4 months since her last release) second LP to the many tiny boxes discography, "Mental Breakdown 2: Electric Boogaloo," with twice the mental, twice the breakdown. Not having listened to any of the project's singles beforehand, I've dropped in completely blind to what I was expecting to be a project as chaotic as her self-titled. Honestly, even if I did relisten to her last project and past singles as an ... read more
After track #6, I don't even wanna listen to the rest of the album at this point. Kenny came, and he came rock hard.
ACTUAL REVIEW:
Honestly, besides a few tracks here and there, Future and Metro's "WE DON'T TRUST YOU" is a lot less ambitious than what I would've expected from a collaboration like this, especially when you look back and realize how much more grandiose Metro's past two projects were when compared to the scale of ideas executed on this album. That's not to say that I ... read more
26 minutes shouldn't feel long in the slightest when it comes to projects like these, but when the ideas being presented aren't hitting at all, it quickly turns into a slogfest. I wanted to like this because I always find myself enjoying Kenny's performance whenever he hops on other people's tracks, but this is actually just mind-numbingly mediocre.
What it says on the tin is practically what you're signing up for. 12 minutes of nonstop grooving, and although it's a really quick listen, I wouldn't say that's to the project's detriment. Not a single second of this EP is wasted on dead air as it keeps delivering with it's incredible production. Every single track warrants a head bop, so if you're looking for a quick dopamine boost, give this a listen!
NOW NUMBER FIVE~
Extremely cheesy in the best way possible. This be that good shit.
