I've spent a lot of time with this album since it first released last year. At the time it came out, I wasn't out yet, and I think I was still harboring a lot of reservations about my journey so far. Lots of uncertainty, wondering if it was all worth it, if I should skirt the pain I knew I was in store for me. This album speaks to all of that pain felt during the process of transitioning, and as time has gone on I have only felt it reflect my own image more and more.

I realized that I had never listened to this album all the way through before even though I used to be a huge Monstercat fan and remember when the singles for this album came out. 11 years later, and it's kind of shocking how absolutely stuffed this project is with creativity and boundary-pushing production for the mid 2010s. It's aged remarkably well, save for a song here and there, and it might just be one of Monstercat's strongest album releases ever.
This girl should not be given all the talented producers for her debut EP. Let her make music a 12 year old would make. Give her garage band and have her make some straight dogshit on her own.
I'm not crazy about most of these flows but the production is nice and distorted and his vocals really melt into the 808s without getting drowned out. Lots of plugg artists struggle with it but this album pretty much nails it
