you could tell me that your top ten favorite songs of all time are just this whole album and while i'd maybe have a couple questions, i wouldn't even blame you
Honest to god might be one of the best debut albums I have ever heard from an artist. You can tell he mixed, mastered, wrote, and produced it all himself, because the sound and themes are so consistent in the best way, but every song felt so different at the same time.
I listened to pe$o$ on repeat about a trillion times when it came out, so I kinda knew I was gonna love this, but still. Such an impressive first album, even if it is extremely short. You do kinda start to get into the groove of ... read more
This one is gonna take a few listens to process. A deeply personal album on Phoebe Bridgers' end, but a rare personal project that I feel also speaks so truthfully about my own experiences, from faith to love to the psych ward and everything in between. This was special.
Favorites: Punisher, Chinese Satellite, Savior Complex, Graceland Too, I Know The End

I was already a fan of Maggie before I heard this, but even as someone that had heard every project previously, this is a huge leap to me! Vocally, production wise, melodically, everything just feels like a major leap, while still staying within her traditional sound. I was worried that her sound would stagnate after a couple projects that sounded mostly the same, but she manages to elevate to a whole new level with i feel everything, and so much of that is down to the partnership between her ... read more
There's a lot of very clear inspiration drawn here, and I'm not entirely sure this album does enough to make me want to listen to it MORE than its predecessors. But still, a Bruno Mars album rarely lets me down, and I had a really fun time with this. It's short, simple, and safe in a way that I feel lets it down at times, but in general Bruno's voice and emotion carries through in an enjoyable way.
Also a pretty big fan of some of the songwriting in here!

Woah!!!!!!!! Really cool to see such a growth in an artist. I honestly thought large parts of her first album were almost unlistenable. Poorly mixed, performed, written, produced, whatever have you. But this album got rid of literally all of that.
The production on some of the songs off the album is not only great, but unique in a way that allows Tate to kinda shift away from the cookie cutter popstar sound she very much had in her first LP. That's not to say no one has done the style she ... read more
I'm really not sure how I feel about this one. It has all the makings of a good album, so why does it just not click with me? Dua's vocals on this album are the best they've ever been by FAR, and it seems like she really found a space she was comfortable in. But the production choices made throughout a good handful of these songs confused me. Ironically, it's the same thing I said about her first album: Impressive vocals, spotty production. Granted, the mixing is SO much ... read more
Extremely enjoyable and well-made album. Some of the production and songwriting on this project actually blew me away. I first found greek through a random Spotify shuffle find, and from the second I heard hmu, I knew I had to listen to the whole thing, and I was not disappointed at all. Just genuinely a really fun listen, and a great rnb album.
Favorites: hmu, fantasy, bones
I have absolutely nothing bad to say about either of these songs, oh my god. Some of the best debut music I have ever heard from any artist. Her voice matches the production and instrumentation so well, and it contributes so well to the music just wrapping you up in the world it wants you to be in. I got so many chills it's crazy. Please bring me more rn
Really happy I got to see Rozey live, and this EP was just a really cool collection of good songs. All the shoegaze and punk rock you could ask for, really. I just felt some of the production choices were questionable, while others were fucking awesome. Excited to hear whatever Rozey does next!!
Beautifully written, beautifully sung, and for the most part, beautifully produced. Going into this album, I had already heard (and loved) Funeral and Scott Street, so I had some idea of what to expect going into the full album, and wow, I was not disappointed. Just some devastatingly sad topics covered in the most gorgeous and poetic ways. Some of the tracks around the middle of the album started to feel a little bit too similar to each other, but they were almost always redeemed by ... read more
Thank you @RobiBlueForever for the recommendation!
Surprised by this (considering I had no idea what to expect), but I really enjoyed it! I wouldn't actually say there are any misses on this album. My only real gripe is that a good number of the songs felt less like a jazz rock fusion and more like an album where some songs are rock and others are jazz. That being said, the songs that stick closer to one confined genre (like Goopya Peezda) are some of the strongest on the album, while I ... read more
Sometimes you listen to something and immediately know it changed your life. Sometimes you listen to something and immediately know it's one of the greatest things you've ever heard. This album left me with both of those feelings.
I know I said this about Earthmover off of Deathconsciousness, but I swear I don't say this lightly: Look Down on Us is one of the best songs I have ever heard. What a fucking debut album.

If there were a most improved player award for music, it could probably go to Dua for the jump in quality between this and the last album. She went from boring pop music to reinventing pop by fusing it with disco and funk, a sound almost everyone after her tried to mimic. For that same reason, why the fuck are the last two songs on this album? They're a whole ass different genre from the rest of the album, and force awful songwriting down your throat that really makes you wonder who said ... read more
There were multiple points throughout this album where I was shaking and didn't even realize until 30 seconds after I started. This was one of the most intense and equally moving experiences I've ever had from a piece of music.
Brief content warning here because I'm going to talk quickly about my experiences with suicidal thoughts and depression as they connect to this album. So many artists out there create music to try and capture the feeling of depression and the hopelessness ... read more
Dua Lipa is the only truly good part of Dua Lipa's album Dua Lipa.
I'm not sure I've ever heard an album with more confusing production choices in my entire life. Some of the sounds chosen are just so odd and don't make sense. It was like the producers weren't allowed to listen to or read Dua's lyrics when they were making the song, and instead had to go entirely off the visual of the audio waves. Thinking 'Bout You especially sounds like a 2015 YouTube type ... read more
I'm gonna be honest, I discovered this album because I Googled "Albums about falling in love," and this was suggested in a Reddit post I saw. I know, corny as fuck, but hey. A guy might be in love, and I can't keep listening to Mario forever.
When I was first going through the songs, I was confused. I was wondering how in the world this was a response to my question, but as the album progressed, I figured out exactly why. Songs like I Did Something Weird Last Night, Blast ... read more
This was genuinely so good and I am so happy about that!!
Finneas for me has been an artist that I've always really liked, and I believe his work with Billie is some of the absolute best in the mainstream pop industry. But beyond that, his recent solo album For Cryin' Out Loud! is one that I very regularly go back to. I think he is one of the most underrated names in every field he applies to, and this album is no exception. His production doesn't skip a beat, and neither does ... read more
Who knew that when Logic dropped the "I don't care about rap" gimmick, he would release a really, really good project?
I used to be a huge Logic fan. I first heard of him from his 2012 mixtape Young Sinatra: Undeniable, and I listened to and generally loved everything he put out after that, up until Everybody, where my fandom slowly began to wane until I didn't follow him or keep up at all, hence my late arrival to this album. After all, he had been teasing Ultra 85 for what ... read more
Saying on the opening track of your sophomore album, "sad girl bit got a little boring," and then proceeding to release an album full of the most dull, basic, and boring music pop has to offer is a bold choice, but it's a choice that Tate McRae made.
Every track feels like one part of it is compensating for another; the highly-produced pieces make up for a bad vocal/lyrical performance, and the less-produced ones feature Tate trying to perform a bit more dynamically, but her ... read more
