This is probably her best album, especially with production. Even though I personally prefer SOPHOMORE SLUMP CALLITHUMP, this is probably one of my favorite releases of 2025. Vivi is improving slowly and I'm not sure if I should be proud or scared.
OG Review: This is her best album as of right now. I was actually kind of afraid whatever she'd release next after SOPHOMORE would most likely be "mid" in my books after listening to Circuit Bent, but this made me eat my words ... read more
There's something about this rotten version that makes me feel uncomfortable considering the backstory for this EP. It feels like I'm slowly rotting away (no pun intended), slowly losing everything I once knew and had. I absolutely adore this project and I'm glad the search for this was enough to bring back the band after a whole two decades.
First listen review. The vocals in the first few songs remind me of early Earl Sweatshirt when he used to do horrorcore, the flows in here sometimes gets a bit all over the place, especially on songs like lo(o)se, but overall it's actually pretty decent in most of the songs. The vocals when she starts screaming get kind of obnoxious, and that's usually when the vocals kind of get off beat, but overall it's still okay. The production on this gives me vibes of early experimental ... read more
Production wise, this is probably one of Tyler's most creative albums out there. While it's understandable why most may not like it, there is a lot of passion put into this project, a lot of risk taking. To put it in his words when he first released this, it's music he wanted to make ever since he was a kid. You can tell simply because of that message there was a lot of passion, a lot of effort and love put into this album. Some songs in here are absolutely beautiful to listen ... read more
While there's good stuff in this album, there's something missing here compared to CHASER. There's a bit less bitcrush and less screaming through out the record, so the lyrics are somewhat understandable, and that Danny Brown feature was completely unexpected when I first listened to this EP. I think it's just less funky than CHASER? Only DINNER and MIN3 N MIN3 are the ones I go back to more than the other songs in here, especially considering they're probably the best ... read more
I go back to this one a bit more than REACTOR. While there are good songs in this EP, the constant yelling and screaming and bit crushed effects get very tiring after awhile- some times the effects make the lyrics completely unlistenable. This is probably her best work as of right now if I'm being honest.
What a crazy fuckin' album. Instantly starts with an intro track that sounds like nothing I've ever heard like before, but also sounds like something I'd hear from 2012. Does that make sense? Some of the beats are completely crazy on this too, such as One Meal A Day Type Beat and Shaun King Is Not Seeing Heaven. I get a strange sense of nostalgia from listening to this album but it only came out in 2021. I think it might be because of this whole DIY vibe it gives me. It's ... read more
There are certain parts in this version that are better than Mirror to Mirror, but personally to me, I believe the lo-fi production of the original is what made this album special. Even then, I still really like this version of the album. Also that extra guitar solo in Cute Thing is what losing your virginity feels like.
OG REVIEW: If you wanna get into Car Seat Headrest's Twin Fantasy, but can't deal with the low quality recording through out the whole record, then this version ... read more
Fuck you, and fuck this album. Worst piece of shit I've ever listened to in my life.
This is just sad. I couldn't get through this. At least it's.. very slightly tolerable sometimes but.. I don't know. "I'm R Kelly, bitch! Now I'm Bill Cosby, bitch!" Are you kidding me? What a mess this album is.
Doo doo. Ass. While there are some good songs, the production and everything about this album is a complete mess. Songs like POP OUT, RATHER LIE, GOOD CREDIT, are amazing, though it's hard to call the song RATHER LIE amazing considering they used an AI filter for Carti's voice. This album is a whole mess, for an album called I AM MUSIC I hear more of other people being music than Carti himself. Hell- there are literal songs where Carti isn't even in the damn thing. What an awful ... read more
His best album from his Odd Future era, featuring some of his best songs, best melodies, best writing and bars and even some of his most popular songs. This is where Tyler matures just a bit and tries to make a genuine album, a genuine concept with characters and descriptions and emotions. Songs like Jamba, Awkward, 48 and other songs show the character of Samuel and what kind of character he is. Songs like the intro / title track, Cowboy, Answer and Colossus show what kind of character Wolf ... read more
This album is probably their best produced yet and has some of their greatest songs. The intro track is an amazing way to start and album like this, and American Dream Denial is some crazy shit I don't think anyone else would be able to come up with.. other than SOAD themselves. God is this such a good album.
One of the best hiphop records but also most depressing hiphop records I've ever heard. The messy and abstract production of this album makes it whole. Helped me during my darkest times this year and is an all time favorite of mine no matter what.
OG REVIEW: The best rap album of all time. Earl's writing, production, flow on this. This feels like I'm listening to some weird warped MF DOOM vinyl- you can hear the MF DOOM inspirations through out the writing and production. The ... read more
Probably one of the most flawless experimental rap albums I've ever listened. Some songs make my ears tingly, both good and bad, but the production is not like anything I've heard before this project dropped. The only JPEG to do it.
OG REVIEW: This makes Yeezus look like baby's first experimental album. How does he do it? Some of the production in these songs are the most craziest shit I have ever listened to in my entire life. Songs like Real Nega, Baby I'm Bleeding, DD ... read more
I listen to this more than I'd like to say, some listens though I listen more closely to the lyrics. Safe to say, this album fuels and helps my depression and my issues with overcoming addiction. Gruesome piece of poetry.
OG Review: This album helps me get through my depression. The dark muddy instrumentals and drums on this, the deep honest lyrics within this album like the references to his Xanax and drug addiction, not going outside much (duh!), grieving over his grandmother, and much ... read more
JPEGMAFIA's lyric from Bloodline Freestyle definitely fits this entire album. "Not gon' lie, when I turn on yo' album, I feel like I stepped in some trash. Doodie, ass." This album is.. doodoo. Literal shit. Ass. Clunky synths constantly, low quality drums through out, and the edgy lyrics that were from Bastard got cranked up to 100. And also he constantly complains about critics through out the album. It feels like he thought people liked him simply because he said ... read more
Best rock album of all time. This album immediately starts with what I consider one of the best intro tracks of all time. This album feels like reading someone's diary- a diary you shouldn't be reading, and that's what I really enjoy about it. The riffs on this album, the bass, the melodies- the chords- everything about this album is absolutely amazing. Why Bother, Across the Sea, and Pink Triangle are the most amazing rock songs I have ever heard. This and their debut album ... read more
Tyler the Creator's first album. For a debut album, this is amazing, but comparing it to his current works.. yeah it's a mess. The references to rape, kidnapping, murder, all that horrorcore junk is enough to probably scare someone away from listening to this, especially the 12th track "Sarah". But with that aside- there are still many amazing tracks here personally. Songs like French!, Parade, VCR / Wheels, Jack and the Beanstalk, Inglorious are my favorite Tyler the ... read more
This album made me cry, and made me heal the wounds I've gained from toxic relationships, but it wasn't a easy heal when listening to something as emotional and powerful as this. Also Famous Prophets in this version sounds like someone's world falling apart. Classic album and all time favorite.
OG REVIEW: This album made me cry, many many times. As someone who has been through a toxic / abusive relationship, these songs were a tough listen at first. Sober to Death, High to ... read more
