this song is so good. love the production, insanely catchy beat. despite the weak run westside gunn has been on for a while, his flows and rapping on this particular song is excellent - my favorite performance from him in a whiiile. doechii also snaps. it feels like she's really hungry to prove herself as the great rapper she is, after all the hate she has been receiving as of late. a top 5 rap song of the year for me.
this song has a special ability to boost my mood no matter the situation im in. everything about it is great
Fun listen
Not every album needs complex writing and deep metaphors for it to have good and enjoyable lyricism. 'Jonathan Livingston' by Indigo is a direct proof of that. The rapper paints a straightforward picture in most of the tracks of this concept album; talking about social issues, the government, personal struggles and his day to day life. He does so while also including certain lines from the book of the same title that are associated with the songs of the album. It's a ... read more
very bloated. a lot of filler. some features miss (skepta kills it tho). a lot of carti's vocal inflections are genuinely annoying. many songs feel unfinished; ESPECIALLY CRUSH, a three minute nothing burger. first three tracks suck. the highs are pretty good. not worth the wait nor the hype. this is just a party playlist.
the beat kind of reminds me of all the stars. good melodic parts with solid messaging, and cool beat switch
i've first listened to muchi on the 20th of february 2022, back when he had 50k monthly listeners; through the song "LUGGAGE", then heard "a couple minutes." a few months later. from that moment, it was clear to me that he was a gifted lyricist and this EP completely showcases that side of him. from that day, his artistry has grown and improved more and more, and this is a complete showcase of that. the production, the lyricism, the rapping; everything shows that muchi ... read more
most of the newer songs dont really do anything that can make them compete with the original tracklist.
Really fun!
Doechii is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the 2024 hip hop scene. She is an extremely good singer, rapper and entertainer. I'm really glad she had a year where she could increase her popularity by large margins. Anyways, this mixtape is perfect for people who are into rappers who will make their uniqueness loud and clear. 'Alligator Bites Never Heal' is a breath of fresh air. It features storytelling and lyricism that is full of personality, topped by ... read more
Hauntingly beautiful
'To See The Next Part of the Dream' is a shoegaze album created by the mysterious Korean artist Parannoul. This album features many pop culture references; most notably dialogue samples from the amazing 2001 movie 'All About Lily Chou-Chou'. The tracks have very emotional instrumentations from the artist to accompany the themes of depression, burden and hardships; and they are definitely what makes this album so special. Parannoul manages to create the ... read more
Polarizing experience
'DAMN.' is the album that is known as Kendrick Lamar's "commercial album", but it is much more than that. This album is a journey through the mind of Kendrick, one that has a main, obvious theme: duality.
'DAMN.' presents the listeners with the internal struggle of Kendrick Lamar, the artist labeled as the "hip-hop savior" around the time of the project's release. Although he was considered as the golden boy of hip hop ... read more
Amazing Production
"WHEN THE SUN GOD RISES" by Brocko and Lucyen is a very short hip hop EP, having a runtime of only FIVE minutes. During these five minutes, the producer Lucyen presents it's listeners with four amazing beats that feature amazing soul features with energetic drums. Brocko raps in a smooth and charismatic way over these great beats, with a style similar to that of Earl Sweatshirt. These two are a killer duo, and the only thing I'd complain about is the tiny ... read more
"I wanna fly through the sky"
Sometimes, the world closes in on you; constantly throwing obstacles in front of you, taking away what's significant and dear to you. These experiences change you, for better or for worse. In the case of the latter, you might forget who you truly are, inflicting pain on people that you are the closest to. When this happens, you tend to start taking away what's significant and dear from those people, making them experience the exact same things ... read more
Short and sweet
Vince Staples' self titled album is a 22-minute project that showcases the rapper pretty well: his ability to flow smoothly on any song that he's on, his vulnerable yet very confident lyricism, his unique voice and delivery; the artist
is able to make a statement and set himself apart from other people in the game in this album.
Narrating his story on beats made by the great producer Kenny Beats, Vince delves into topics such as growing up in his childhood ... read more
