just lovely front to back. the intro and outro are some of my favourite chill songs from recently. I'm a huge fan of ambient, reverb heavy music, that shit calms my soul. genuinely a heavy hitter after a long day or a good night walk.
*just rating the hexalogy + perfect circle*
pretty damn good. I love the idea of using the same beat in a series and changing it up, testing different situations, and applying a unique vibe to each song, I really thought it was clever and I've never seen anything like it. if I'm being honest, it was 90s the whole hexalogy through, just incredible production front to back. perfect circle was great too, but not on par with the songs before it. essential listen for sure. maybe once my ... read more
I enjoyed this album a ton. shoegaze, post rock, indie rock, noise pop, Neo-psychedelia, and indietronica are all genres I love hearing and having all of them in one place just felt so fulfilling. super chill noisy instrumentals all the way through. all of the songs were amazing and I found even the interlude had character to it, unnecessary but it's better than a lot of other interludes I've heard. generational album of its kind, a must listen.
deadass the only piece of music I have ever shed tears to. docked 5 points because I hate that saxophone from 4:10 to 4:45. the rest is incredible the whole way through. amazing ep/single, I wish it was capable of getting the sacred purple star.
fire ass noise. I mean that in the best way possible, as someone into Julie, and a lot of chaotic experimental music, I love noise. sometimes volume just carries you through the day. I genuinely enjoyed it the whole way through and came out of it feeling great towards each track. the saddest part was hearing it for the first time and realizing there's not much more I can like this album, but it never got boring as I kept listening. fire album, tell someone into louder music about it.
no bad tracks in my opinion but a lot of it just felt like standard od boom bap with some jazz mixed in. wasn't particularly unique just consistently 7/10 a lot of the way through. nothing wrong just not many standouts for me. would still bump this on a sunny, chill day tho. solid album.
super solid ep from benny. crowns for kings and 5 to 50 are amazing songs, with 5 to 50 in particular being in my rotation for around a month before I finally made it through my list to this point. great project, only complaint is the intro skit being kinda boring and not really needing to be there. solid, would recommend.
super super unique and enjoyable, for sure gonna come back to Bjork in the future. I seriously believe there's 4 10/10 songs on here. super consistent, with the only tracks on the low end, those being the last 2 songs, are alright to me and still enjoyable on occasion. army of me will stay in my rotation for ages, and rest will for sure be listened to again from time to time. super fun, would recommend, especially during a math test like I did.
so much mid and so much trash. not a single trap song I really enjoyed, the boom bap beats are the standard quality you find from Griselda and kitchen lights is immaculate. how is a song like kitchen lights thrown amongst this dumpster fire, its amazing, and its why I listened to this album. I was hoping these ratings were overreactions, but they are perfectly fair, I was disappointed. genuinely not worth it in the slightest, do not listen unless you really really glaze gunn. mid as hell ... read more
solid album, my introduction to Boldy and it makes me want to come back for more. I was a huge fan of tracks like surf and turf, snort, and speed demon freestyle, those songs stick in my memory the most. all the other tracks were good too, except for mustard, I found it pretty mid. solid album, would recommend.
I'm done the full discography and now I'm just sitting around until the next drop. amazing ep, not sure what the interludes are for but the full songs are incredible, I love them so much, especially lochness, shits generational. probably one of my favourite eps, amazing, damn near flawless without the interludes.
pretty solid, even if it's not my preferred sound. nothing really wrong but a lot of the tracks blur into one another in memory and how most sound like a product of it's time. not bad tho, just a little less varied than I wish it was. good album.
my third project of his that I found solid, but not as amazing as none shall pass or the impossible kid. it had some nice moments and I came out of it with parts of songs stuck in my head like the crows 1 and homemade mummy choruses and the sick ass "walk into the light" part of fyrestarter, and I don't even really like that song. still liked it, solid album, would recommend.
had some good moments but also some mid to bad moments too. 8 steps to perfection, last good sleep, and info kill II are my picks for best songs. the rest of the tracks are around the 7 range except for the outliers that are 89.9 detrimental, vital nerve, and the fire in which you burn. all of those are the worst on the album, with 89.9 specifically being terrible. alright album, very dated.
some really great songs lie here but at the same time I found that there were some almost pointless or mediocre tracks. the intro sets the tone but almost doesn't need to as every track provides the same atmosphere, diedre vs dice is so short that it has almost no replay value, and 3rd act has the same problem but it sounds worse. for the positives, there are many good songs, you got me is a classic, and many tracks are distinguishable from one another. solid, but perhaps a little ... read more
love the highs so much. marijuana might be one of my favourite cudi songs that I've heard and mr rager got me into this project, both 10s. pretty consistent with mostly 70s and 80s with the intro, mojo so dope, these worries, and the end being the best after those 2 for me. low points were definitely we aite and wild'n cuz im young, which are both mid songs. pretty good, makes me want to listen to more cudi but im a little nervous based on what I've heard about his later music. ... read more
pretty solid. really felt closer to the production than the rapping but the rapping is solid. I only feel like that because of how nice and chill the production gets. overall it's pretty solid, idk about generational like some people claim but to me it's a great album, just that. would recommend if someone doesn't find it themselves.
if Im gonna be completely honest I wasn't really a fan. the instrumentals are fine, not my style but fine, except for the times where the drums literally drown out any other part of the song or I'm being subjected to the cia torture that is track 10. idk maybe I'll come back but right now I want this project to stay far away from me, except for the decent tracks.
I personally think it's underrated but I get where people come from. just because it doesn't match up to his other work doesn't make it bad. it solid but not great, enjoyable but not mind blowing. it's a good listen for someone who wants to hear more Steve lacy music or Neo soul.
