Honestly a must-listen especially on the modern internet, watching Sprain shed their past and embrace this super abrasive sound before fizzling out at the top of their game is fucking awesome.
The way Alex talks about sex, art, and personhood speaks to me very personally, it serves as a reminder that putting yourself out there artistically is uncomfortable and difficult but worth the effort.
It is a harrowing, haunting, abrasive nightmare of a track list, the screeching feedback present in ... read more
Really struck a chord as someone trying to make art work out and incessantly feeling like that was the wrong decision. Almost every track struck me with a line that I've thought and berated myself with before in some far less eloquent way. 34 minutes of not my thing.
It's not a particularly catchy pop album and it doesn't really have the staying power of Wallsocket. Really well put together but overall I wasn't blown away.
FAV: Wish U Well
EDIT: Relistened and liked it marginally more, but my thoughts are mostly the same, still not my favorite but I like it and I'm glad it exists

Favorite Six Impala project to date, nothing in the entire world sounds quite like it.

I've definitely already said this about six impala, but nothing really sounds like this album, I love it
FAV: no longer
Four of my favorite six impala tracks and a lot of lore stuff that I wasn't thrilled with. I loved the journey in both Rubber and Earwax had exposition at the beginning and end, but for the most part let you fill in the blanks by FEELING the album. WFLYTD feels very in your face at times.
Sonically Neutra is a HUGE addition to the six impala squad and I love her voice so much, it adds a lot to this album and makes me love a lot of the individual tracks a whole lot more than Rubber, ... read more
