It's like nothing I've ever heard when it comes to hip hop, truly unique with one of the most interesting stories and atmospheres to an album. The production was great but some of the beats were to similar, a couple lines made me scratch my head, and I face palmed at a few of the samples but that was few a far between. As a collective it isn't perfect but it has one of the most cool and unique flows to any rap album.
ARCTIC MONKEYS DISCOGRAPHY #5- AM
Cliche more than anything, bland as hell at times but there were tracks I genuinely enjoyed. This definitely was an improvement on Suck it and See by a margin because it feels like it has some sense of cohesion unlike with that record. It was more comfortable in its sound but this pop rock sound is just bland and boring.
ARCTIC MONKEYS DISCOGRAPHY #4- Suck it and See
Everything I didn’t like about humbug is amplified with this album, I couldn’t name you one song that stood out but it was good background music. The sound is definitely changing though and I want to say if they improve on it.
There are some enjoyable tracks on here but it is still forgettable and don't see myself returning to the project at large but this opened the door for AM and TBH+C which are both better.
Love and Loss go hand and hand with this album. The pure emotion and raw performance only add to these themes. This album is flowing with life, nostalgia, reflected on the past, and discovering yourself even in hard times. The flow from track to track is amazing and it feels like your watching a movie in the form of music one that is absolutely awe inspiring and almost haunting even.
ARCTIC MONKEYS DISCOGRAPHY #3- Humbug
Harmless alt-rock, not much to say about this one, not much stands out to me but it was an enjoyable listen regardless, lacked a bit of focus.
EDIT: I listened to the last 4 tracks and I honestly think it improved with those tracks, it felt more comfortable in the sound it established. The strongest parts of the album were the start and end with the highlights being tracks like crying lightning or cornerstone. So yeah I guess a bit did stand out.
ARCTIC MONKEYS DISCOGRAPHY #2- Favourite Worst Nightmare
This was really solid as well. It was a little less consistent than the debut. Alex Turner wasn't as captivating with his songwriting and singing than the debut as well but damn it had some bangers.
One of the most consistantly great albums I've heard
