Stephen handles all production on his own this time around to mixed but mostly good results. First handful of songs feel quintessentially Taproot, albiet not as tight, & there's some genuinely great written ballads near the end while it trails off

Mixing gripes aside, this album surprised me on how hard it really gets at points, capturing the spirit of their younger selves without falling into redundancy

A worthy follow up to Gift that decidedly goes more in an alternative rock/metal direction while keeping what made the band unique & different. A few moments that feel too subdued for me, but starts & ends very very strong. Poem is one of the all time great nu metal singles

An avant garde nu metal album. A grimy yet beautiful mix of sounds, meaty riffs contrasted by off-kilter funk segments, time signature changes that subvert what you expect, & to top it off with one of the most unique voices in the genre
