Anyone new to Slipknot should surely look to their Roadrunner debut first, but if you like what you heard there and want some more, or if you're curious about the band's inventive beginnings, search out this early release -- you won't be disappointed.

Confessions is a letter from a father to a son from whom he's been separated for about 17 years. It arrives about the time of the boy's first transformation. It was written by Donnie Steele. Only Paul likes this song (info that i get from the video of the song)

This is practically an entirely different band than what came after, it makes sense why they only consider it a demo and not an album. Different singer, guitar players, and no DJ. It contains some of the DNA of later Slipknot but at a slower and less refined pace. It's heavier on the Mr Bungle influence, and the heaviness is a bunch sludgier and groovy kind of metal than the frantic metal of...well...nearly everything after this. I'll start this review off by saying I'm not a Slipknot fan, I used to be when I was a kid and in my early teens but I've well and truly grown out of them by this point. Although I remember really liking this album alot, even after I had grown out of most of their music which is what made me want to revist this. So hopefully I'll come in with a little bit more of a fresh perspective from someone who doesn't really listen to Slipknot.

Just like many kids born in the mid-2000's, "Slipknot" was present in a pretty decent chunck of my life, mainly because my brother always used to play their songs.
