I used to like this album wayyyy more BUT for reverend green and fireworks are still perfect songs in my eyes, one of my favourite back to back songs on any album
Pretty fun. Saw them opening for Weatherday in Nottingham and they were pretty good. Recommended.
Happy 10th year anniversary to one of my personal favourite albums ever.
Ok I lied. It's technically not the 10th anniversary because Neil Cicierega thought it would be funny to release this album on a leap day. The actual 10th year anniversary will technically be in the year 2056 which will be in 30 years and quite frankly I don't want to wait that long because the world would've probably ended by then. This is 2 hours of Car Seat Headrest at their very best. Every song is unique, creative and amazing which is phenomenal for a 20 song album. The lyrics are fantastic. The instrumentation is great (ESPECIALLY the trumpet in some songs and drums 🤤). This album hits the perfect sweet spot for me between the lo-fi production of their earlier years and the professional production they would have in later projects. How To Leave Town is technically an EP but it really isn't since it's 62 minutes long. This album was written around the time Will Toledo was moving from Virginia to Seattle hence the album's name. This is also the final release by car seat headrest as a solo project and unsigned.
