A swing between the loud and the low, these dichotomous aspects are developed through the feelings and the tunes. There are few things in this album that can be copied because everything from the start to finish is so singular and well-executed. It is a very beloved album of mine that I can't help but listen to a lot, but I think that the experience of listening for the first time (since you are open to it and like well-made creative stuff) is kind of oppressive (and great!).
Taylor Swift clearly underwent an evolution in her journey. Evolution doesn't necessarily imply a change from bad to good, but simply a change itself, and she indeed changed. Venturing into country, pop rock, alternative and pop ballads, she takes a step back with "Midnights".
