I do have a bit of bias because I don't love Carti or his vocals here much, but I'll try to do an unbiased review.
Great trap record, tbh. Might take more highlights for it to really make me appreciate it more, but it's really unique and brought new things to the trap genre, while still feeling on beat with the rest of it. Most features do well use of their time too, with some really good highs and production all around. Atmospheric and tbf, druggy moods all throughout. His ... read more
A really, really eerie album. It feels like every ounce of this album was made without thinking of anything else other than darkness and post-punk production. Legitimately, this album lives up to its tags.
If you were unaware like I was, this album was released just two months after lead vocalist and lyricist Ian Curtis died. That's a really tough position for a band to be, and much less for them to release their final project while still processing his passing. And you can really feel ... read more
Barely at 35 minutes long, Jason's third album is decent, really. It's nothing particularly innovative, but it does well what aspects it does. Melodic dubstep and some more EDM touches make for his usual stuff.

It starts off so strong too, the first three four tracks are ... read more
First time hearing these guys, and honestly I liked their approach. Shoegaze / alt rock is a classic combo, and it's a really upbeat listen. In my eyes, the dream pop aspect isn't really as present as the other two subgenres. This is such a fitting post-hardcore album, so that's what stands out the most in this. It's a reverby work, not really psychedelic though. And it's also very atmospheric, it's fitting for focusing on something while still having alt rock on ... read more
