This is a very OK country album. A couple of memorable songs but most are forgettable.
Best Song: Our Song
Worst Song: Cold As You
As with this band's output in general this is a mixed bag. It's certainly buoyed by nostalgia as many of this band's music videos were favorites among my friends in high school, but some of these songs are just plain bad. There are diamonds aplenty within the rough though.
Best Song: Greener - Though it's hard not to give it to Ruler of Everything
Worst Song: Be Born
Feels very simple nowadays, but all these songs are pleasant and still hit to this day.
Best Song: Psycho Killer
Worst Song: Who Is It?
A very consistent album from a too-unknown group that I really adore.
Best Song: Sir Sheever
Worst Song: Please Mr. B
It's fine. I wouldn't say it's anything special.
Best Song: Children of the Future
Worst Song: Fanny Mae
A very good debut for another of the big 4.
Best Song: Evil Has No Boundaries
Worst Song: The FInal Command
This kind of music is so hard to get right. The good stuff is great, but the bad stuff is near unlistenable. This album is somehow straddling the line between. Despite a number of successes, this album too often straddles on the poorer side. I will say, a vocal-less version of this album would be rated higher, that singing alone is dropping it a bit.
Best Song: Plastic Promises
Worst Song: Swan Song
This album is good, but nothing after it lives up to the promise of that incredible opener. Also its crazy that this is the second debut I've listened to with a song called White Priviledge.
Best Song: Hypersonic Missiles
Worst Song: That Sound
Instead of trying to win over Beatles fans in mourning with reminders of what made the band great, Ringo decides to make an album of 50's covers.
Classic Ringo.
Best Song: Sentimental Journey
Worst Song: Dream
This is another mom suggestion, I have never heard of this band. They seem to be an Italian version of ABBA? Hard to say. This first album was fine.
Best Song: La prima cosa bella
Worst Song: Ciao Duca
A very enjoyable rock album. It's nothing too crazy but its enjoyable from start to finish.
Best Song: If Only
Worst Song: Hispanic Impressions
A lovely debut from one of my favorite bands as a child and frankly today. This one leans less prog and more rock but the DNA is already there and waiting to be shown.
Best Song: Liar - Queen's most metal song, this is a sound they would more or less abandon after this but I appreciate it being here.
Worst Song: Modern Times Rock 'n' Roll - Roger Taylor did not know how to write good songs in 1973.
My mom once again suggested another banger! This is one of the biggest bands from her home country of Chile, but she never showed them to me before. This first album was great! I'm a sucker for New Wave and this is a very fun version of that sound.
Best Song: La Voz De Los '80
Worst Song: Eve-Evelyn
I've heard many of these songs in bits and pieces over the years, and hearing them altogether like this was a little underwhelming. There's some good ideas here, but its mostly just okay. That closer is a goddamn masterpiece though.
Best Song: Goodbye To a World
Worst Song: Lionhearted
I think the vocals need a lot of work but this was a fun time.
Best Song: Interstellar Overdrive - I think this altered my brain chemistry.
Worst Song: The Scarecrow
While John and George used their first big solo records to make statements on themselves as people or artists, Paul just made a bunch of songs. Everything here is exceedingly simple, but in a charming way, and Paul's songwriting abilities shine through. Ultimately it's disposable but who would want to dispose of it?
Best Song: Maybe I'm Amazed
Worst Song: Hot As Sun / Glasses
This is barely metal, which surprised me. It's very generic hard rock and at times feels like fake music from a movie.
Best Song: Biggest Part of Me
Worst Song: Ride My Rocket
