It's a fun, chill little album that's just great to listen. I think she has a lot of potential in the music world. Studious was amazing.
unlike all you AOTY people, this album is okay. That's it. I like most of the songs, they're quite good, but I don't think there's anything I found incredibly peak like on Freudian/NEVER ENOUGH.
I hate wasted potential, that shit....crushes your spirit.
Kanye West and Jay-Z. The two biggest artists in the game on one album, with features from Frank Ocean and Beyonce. And, mid. It's okay. It starts off crazy with No Church In The Wild, which in my opinion is a 9 or 10/10 song, then it just goes downhill from there. Individuals of African Descent in the Confines of 48.8575° N, 2.3514° E is a great song, but it gets tiring after the 14th time listening to it. Otis is another ... read more
This album is pure meh. Kendrick and Drake shit aside, it's a bloated, mid, album with a couple standout tracks like NOKIA, GIMME A HUG, and DIE TRYING, but every other track is dog ass. There's really nothing to say here. I would hope PND would try to do a 3-1 and clutch up with this album, but....no. I don't wanna talk about this shit anymore.
This is the turning point between happy-go-lucky, young Mac and depressed, thoughtful Mac that began with Watching Movies With The Sound Off. You can hear that pre GO:OD AM sound in this record and feel the influences this had on Swimming and Circles. However, there are some tracks that I think are excellent, but some I think are only okay. The dreamy production doesn't really take off for me as it should on a couple tracks, but I still think this is a fantastic album.
This, in my opinion, is rap album of the year, overtaking Mac Miller's Balloonerism for me. This album is deeply personal, cold, calculated, and methodical, which is what Pusha T and by extension Clipse's music has been for decades at this point, and it makes me really mad when they call Pusha the "Runaway guy".
Tracks like The Birds Don't Sing are personal songs, talking about the death of their parents (Malice's verse is a standout on this one). Tracks like So ... read more
Unlike what a lot of other people seem to think, I think this album is...okay. It's good, I really liked some tracks, but...a lot of these songs are more pop-ish, which I thought is what Laufey was trying to distance herself from. Tracks like Castle In Hollywood made me sigh at the cliche production.
On the other hand, bossa nova-based and orchestral-based tracks like Lover Girl and Forget-Me-Not are fantastic tracks and standouts on the album. Other tracks like Snow White really ... read more
Great album. The production and themes that Kendrick has always had are still there in his debut album, Section.80. While his lyricism is outmatched by his newer albums, some of his flows and production are the best in his career, from Hol' Up to Rigamortus to Blow My High (Members Only) to HiiiPower. So overall, a great debut album sometimes overshadowed by his following works.
This is the greatest jazz album of all time. Some of the best sax solos in all of jazz from the best saxophonist of the 1960s and some of the best arrangements in all of jazz make for a profound experience. Also i liek the drums on Part III :33333
yeah
The greatest thing about this album I think is that when Joey dropped, the next morning he had to go to school the next morning. Because he was fucking 17 when he made this. 17.
This album features old yet innovative New York boom bap production from producers like Static Selektah, MF DOOM, and J Dilla with introspective rapping from Joey Bada$$, reminiscent of Nas' Illmatic.
Overall, great ass album.
This is the second greatest soul album of all time. No questions. Marvin Gaye talks about almost every progressive issue at this time, from the Vietnam War to drug use to God. The production and lyrics still sound fresh today, more than 50 years later, and also? This is a fantastic ass album. It's a masterpiece. This album is immensely replayable and there are zero skips on the entire thing.
His magnum opus by far. RIP Marvin Gaye.
Usually I'm not a fan of Earl's more monotonous rapping style, but this is a haunting, sobering tale made by a desperate man at the lowest point of his life. Earl raps about his frequent drug use, depression, severe weight loss, and his relationship with his mother. This is probably the greatest song he's ever made.
I refuse to believe I am the same species as this bottom of the barrel motherfucker
When I first listened to this record, I didn't think it was anything astounding or really good. But over time, it reeled me in. I began listening a lot more to songs on this album, from 'January 28th' to the quite honestly, genius sample-based production on 'Wet Dreamz' to 'No Role Modelz'. However, I've heard better, and I think this is Cole's best album.
Melt My Eyez is a rollercoaster of an album, from 'Walkin' to 'Mental' to short and sweet songs like 'The Smell of Death' and 'Sanjuro' and finally dropping off at 'The Ills', there are so many good songs on this album that I can, and have, listened to over and over and over again. There's really nothing bad to say about this album.
I don't like this album.
After 4 years of no official studio albums and a glorified MP3 player, Kanye released this LP on the 20th anniversary of the release of The College Dropout, his first studio album.
Maybe a return to form for Kanye, a chipmunk soul sound? No, just boring, possibly AI laced, slop. I hated Carnival and will hate Carnival. The only song that I remotely like on here is BURN.

I first became attracted to this album from the massive popularity attained from 'See You Again'.
When I sat down and listened to the whole thing, I found a vibrant, energetic fire in these songs, from 'Where This Flower Blooms' to '911/Mr. Lonely' to 'Glitter'. The album is a whole lot more than just See You Again, and what I find impressive was that a lot of this was produced by Tyler.
The only reason this isn't a 90+ for me is because I'm ... read more
GO:OD AM was the third Mac project I listened to, right after Swimming and The Divine Feminine.
I found a fire in Mac that was unfortunately swallowed up by his demons later in his career. A burning desire to become big, to stray away from the 'frat rap' reputation he had gained with songs like 'Donald Trump'. While not as introspective as Watching Movies With the Sound Off, this album makes you feel so many things at once.
Overall, this is a great, replayable album that ... read more
This album, while not meeting up to some of the expectations GO:OD AM set, is a damn good album for when you're in love with someone and you can't stop thinking about them. Tracks like 'Dang!' and 'Stay' make me feel hyped up for the day, and other songs like 'My Favorite Part' and 'God Is Fair, Sexy Nasty' make me feel horny, then sad because Mac is gone and I'm lonely.
I eat pussy other people need food
