I had the pleasure of watching Miley perform live a couple of years ago. She was out of this world. I wasn't much of a fan prior to that, but after the show I realised that there was way more than the artist we knew so far. I felt a sort of hunger; a craving.
I started then looking out for whatever she did, then came Endless Summer Vacation. I was saddened that the direction seemed to be that one, so this really took me by surprise, in the best of ways.
On this record, Miley was finally ... read more
This is the finest Rosalia so far. It's a complete dive into the divine, the sacredness and it's shadow, it's also about ambition. The build up to this album created a lot of expectation, the orchestal arrangements that were showed, the fact that she was about to sing in 13 languages, the looming presence of Frank Ocean (whom I still believe it's actually in Porcelana) permeated an aura of something historic. While I do still think it's a great record, and that it ... read more
puts daughters, street sects and xiu xiu into a blender, somehow ends up sounding like an edgy(er) maneskin
As the title says, Caroline wants to turn into desire. But what is desire?

I just keep thinking what would be of the album if posthumous forgiveness was not in it
She delivered. Probably her most diverse album, and she's giving birth in like 2 months to a man that by that time probably becomes the richest man in the world. She knows whats she's doing in every sense
In between 2012-2015 fka twigs had already had 2 eps, an acclaimed debut LP, and the masterful that was M3LL155X under her belt. so the question lays, what took so long for that sophomore effort? well the answer might just be heartbreak... and 6 tumors
Mrs Debrett said so herself, she never thought heartbreak could be 'so all-encompassing' and she had to 'tear down every process', and that sums up the foundation of what MAGDALENE is, just like I've seen in other reviews it reminds me a lot of ... read more
It's weird but I left this album feeling underwhelmed, I was looking forward to seeing more of her solo work, but to me it's seems as she's lacking something since this felt more of a collection of songs than product
I wasn't expecting a masterpiece out of this project, and it certainly isn't. After 'Dawn Chrous' starting sounding I was hoping for this whole thing to take off, but it ultimately just fell flat, back into it's monotony. And maybe that's the point, just a bunch of human mumbling.
