Radiohead - In Rainbows
100

In Rainbows is Radiohead's crowning achievement: a breathtakingly beautiful, emotionally complex, masterfully performed, and stunningly atmospheric set of 10 incredible tracks. It captures such a wide variety of textures and moods while combining all of the elements that made their previous albums so great. The energy on The Bends and Hail to the Thief, the experimentation of Kid A and Amnesiac, and the thought-provoking concepts and grand instrumentation of OK Computer are all in some way ... read more

Tyler, The Creator - CHROMAKOPIA

An unexpectedly personal, mature, and 𝓱𝓸𝓻𝓷𝔂 record from Tyler. Just like JPEGMAFIA and Kendrick's most recent albums, CHROMAKOPIA sees Tyler reflecting on his life and relationships in a more direct and intimate manner than ever before. He touches on the paranoia that comes with stardom, an unexpected pregnancy, and his still unresolved feelings regarding his father, all on top of his always great production. The second half of the record is truly amazing, and despite as of ... read more

twenty one pilots - Overcompensate

I swore that with the delays, the pretty mediocre singles, and Kanye's notorious lack of communication, Vultures was gonna be yet another unreleased Kanye record. But I'm so glad to be proven wrong, cuz these tracks are some of the best Kanye's released in a while. Fuk Sumn and Carnival are certified bangers, Back to Me has a bonkers Freddie Gibbs verse, and Burn is such a vibrant and smooth cut. I'm excited to keep spinning this and see how my ... read more

Black Country, New Road - For the first time
97

BCNR's debut is a thrilling introduction to one of the most prolific and exciting bands operating today. For the first time is largely representative of the sound of other British post-punk revival bands like Squid or black midi, or even earlier groups like Slint (which the band hilariously references), but the violins and saxophones here add a unique sonic texture and, especially in the more upbeat sections of the record, provide a distinct klezmer influence. Really, all of the instrumentation ... read more
