very weird and unique sound, most of the songs flip between 'this is not good' and 'this is actually fire wait' each time I listen to them (exceptions are Typical Story, February 15th, and I Want a Dog which I all really like)
A Reasonable Intro, flight song, tell you, and smoke break were all pretty good.
rest of the album was fine, no other songs outside of those four really leaped out at me though.
album cover is fire
solid album but didn't particularly care for any of the songs outside of Sir Lord Acid Wolfman
took two listens to fully appreciate it but I do think this is a pretty good album, though I am disappointed that it went into more of the kind of 'country' sound than rock like "Where's My Phone?" had me hoping for.
weakest songs to me are probably In a Lake, Cats, and If I Leave.
my favorite songs are That White Cat, Where's My Phone?, and I'll Change for You.
a few tracks drag and bring it down but this is easily the best Gorillaz album in a while. also I think this album is the first time since some of Plastic Beach's tracks I've listened to a Gorillaz song and gone "damn that was beautiful"
start is kinda hit or miss (out of the first 4 I only like I Just Might) but the rest is a pretty good streak of bangers imo, especially Nothing Left with the guitar at the end
100% the best Happy Fits album so far, some of their best songs (Lovesick #1 (Misery)) are on here and the sound throughout is just really good. The first half is substantially better than the second half though, since I feel like most of what comes after ICSaYfH was "this is good but I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to this song again" tier for me
pretty good EP. took a few listens on some of the songs to fully come around but I do think each of the 5 songs is a banger
also i was imagining they had antlers the whole time and i think that helped
score is because the album is really good and Mother is a great addition
however as a reissue this is kinda disappointing since it is literally just Mother and nothing else
went in expecting a way worse album and for the whole thing to sound like CHERRY BOMB 24/7, instead it ended up being a pretty solid Tyler album w/ some nice ass instrumentals throughout and some pretty good vocals. shoutout to Kali Uchis' parts she's awesome
the first truly good tyler album! it's pretty consistently solid and there aren't any notable 'haha wow this song is not good' moments (outside of Trashwang but eh it's more mid than bad). honestly my only complaint is that the skits bring down some of the songs they're attached to (ex: WOLF is a great song until the last 30 seconds kills its momentum)
it's Bastard but better (but still not great)
main advantage is that imo the lyrical content is less "uncomfortable" / "extreme" / whatever so there's a lot more songs here I'd actually be willing to relisten to compared to Bastard
also the features are way better. taco is still probably the weakest part of the whole album though
Overall more consistent than Cho (I liked every song here except I Love Internet), but none of the songs really reach Cho's peaks - pa pa pa is really good and memorable, but I can't say any of the others stuck out that much to me on a first listen.
mostly solid nu-metal album, only real 'oh this is bad' track is Pigskin which Is Bad
also Another Way Out is like the single best Hollywood Undead song (even if that isn't too high of a bar)
the sound itself I think is solid throughout, the production is good and the vocals are competent. the actual lyrics push me off most of the songs though, they feel like they're trying too hard.
the main exceptions are Inglorious and Sarah. I have no clue why I have an issue with most of the album but not Sarah when it's probably the most explicit that Tyler gets, but I think the fact that it's more of a story being told helps? idk all i know is that it's a banger
it's solid. don't really care about any of the songs outside of maybe Simple Song of Love, but it at least sounds nice throughout thanks to Sarah Stiles' voice (aka Spinel Steven Universe)
didn't care much for the first half, second half is really good though (especially Red Light that song is peak)
really strong first half, but second half (starting after Landlord Calls the Sheriff In) kinda lost me since it felt pretty slow / repetitive.
