Bamboo houses alone earns this score, a track to be listened to again and again. Everytime you listen you hear something new in the production, mix, arrangement, programming, texture, vocals, tone, pitch....etc. Like much of Sakamoto's early music it is a synthetic canvas, but it is David Sylvian who wields the pastel this time as his vocals glide freely across the surface of the beat.
Listening to U, I can't help but feel like its (very successful) efforts to capture the sound of nostalgia ends capturing itself to its own very dated sound years from now on. A feeling which isn't helped when I read a review comparing this record's sound to the Living Tombstone, which I can't really unhear now. Innuendo is a song of the year contender for me though, it tingles the Chinese part of my brain. More people should learn to read between the lines.
crazy 3 track run with Goldship, Ymgmfuck, Tekutekuwalk. The production is a lot better than what some of the Opium producers come up these days. As American trap declines and Japan steps up its military presence on the international stage logic follows that its home grown rage genre also tries to filled the void left by lazy American trap producers. This record proves why U2 is way overhated, even if this was before their prime era. Bono may not be the best vocalist but he will sound the best he ever will on this record. Even without accompanying footage his stage presence can be felt through the whole recording, never letting up energy even on the low energy songs like Party Girl. The Edge might not be the best guitarist but he actually plays the guitar here, in all its post-punk glory. The rest of the crew is also there.

I never used myspace, but this is the image of myspace-core as an imaginary genre in my head. If this is the direction that underground alternative emo screamo breakcore will be going then we are heading into very exciting times.
