a beautiful political commentary that does it in the perfect way (cough, cough, kanye). no skips here, and if you meet someone who says "interludes are boring/skips" just show them the ones here. some may argue, "oh the poem endings are so boring", dud did you even listen to the damn thing? the representation of america and corporate greed through uncle sam, and the representation of satan and evil through lucy is just amazing. and you know that its a good album when every ... read more
even though some of the songs are samesey, the story HEAVILY makes up for it. this is some of the best storytelling ive ever heard, and thats saying a lot.
they came straight out of the gate with satan's worst nightmare.
what else can i say, its peak.
at first, when i saw a review saying that this was the best dg album, i didnt really get it.
then i listened.
absolute fucking cinema (for ur ears) this is the most punk inspired dg project to date. every single damn track on here is a highlight, the vocals, the drums, the synths, all of it. its the most perfectly constructed death grips project of all time.
fun fact: this is the only time the n word has ever been used in a death grips album/song (not counting that one live performance of come up and get me)
crazy bjork samples and haunting instrumentals; this album is probably one of death grips' most accessible (even though theyre not accessible at all and you must noid yourself to listen to them), i highly recommend a listen.
had a blast listening to this with lasteven, the don and only himself, and wing103. does exactly what it needs to do and the lore goes fucking craAAAAAAAAAAAZY
i really enjoy this album. havent listeened to good pop but i really should since six impala did do a remix of peanut phenomenon. i didnt think i would like this album but i did. bbm is a really good and fast faced track, one of my highlights, and i enjoy the industrial/noise elements along with the edm rap style. highlights are: grand pop!!!!!! (even tho its so short it bangs), bulldozer+, bbm (MIKUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU), and suburban. overall this album deserves a listen. also car
im fucking speechless. this album is the absolute pinnacle of rap. no, i dont just say that because eminem is my all time favorite artist, but this is sure as hell why he is. from depression, to angst, to comedy, to disses, to straight up BARS, this album has absolutely everything. there are zero skips on this album, including the skits, theyre funny as hell. drop everything you have (whether it be a plan or something in your hands) and listen to this album. it an immersive listening experience ... read more
the story behind this album is beautiful. the themes of anti-transphobia and the overall narrative is just beautifully executed. tracks like johnny johnny johnny truly show the darker side of the human nature, and other tracks like old money bitch are stupidly catchy and wont leave your head for days. i wont spoil anything about the album as you need to listen to understand. go do that right fucking now
an actual experience to listen to. the disses on this album are just fucking insane. the production, bars- all of it. i have a theory that this is part of a double disc album and i really hope so, because if this is what kenny is up to, we can expect much more. highlights are: wacced out murals, squabble up, luther, man at the garden, hey now, reincarnated, tv off, dodger blue, peekaboo, heart pt. 6 (not THE heart pt. 6, get it right losers), and gloria. so literally the whole album but the ... read more
truly an experience to listen to. as a big fan of death grips, this album really caught my eye (or ear?) when i stumbled across the intro track. i listened to it a few nights later and can successfully say that i have found a new favorite artist and album. i shit you not, i love this album so much that i got in trouble for listening to it at school (specifically vulgar display of power). when i listened, its dark and hell is hot (dmx?) wasnt on the album but was later readded (bumps up my ... read more
amazing album. story 2 is def one of the highlights, its one of, if not the deepest song i have ever heard. the constant time signature switches are mind boggling. daveed raps really fast on this record, and thats something i digg (please laugh.) there's no skips on this album besides the last track, which is just a noisy compilation of sounds from the album. points for originality tho. body and blood ties into the story of story 7 from clipping.'s 2019 album, there existed an ... read more
actually so fucking bad, holy shit. like i understand being horny but at least try to be ORIGINAL with it. seriously, "im so fucking horny" is not a lyric. listened with lasteven and we had a blast shitting on this, imho revival is somehow better bc of the production and this is catchy which is NOT GOOD i cannot keep this level of freakiness in my brain before it erodes. like seriously, why does she want a guy to mark his territory in juno? does she want to be pissed on? is her sex ... read more
