Man I was really expecting a good album from drake that would maybe not contain any disses towards his peers but well we got Iceman now. Despite it not being as solid of an album that I expected it wasn't as bad as his earlier 2020's works. There are a few highlights such as the beat selection which I think was awesome and a few tracks. But his rapping or should I say the ghostwriters writing was in the trenches here.
This is the frist Kanye album I have ever listened to and been introduced to and for that it holds a special place in my heart. Revisiting it a few years later now it still is really good and worth saying: "but he made Graduation". Still I don't think it is as good as Late Reg or The Dropout as it does have it's flaws and Drunk And Hot Girls exists.
This is the first Navy Blue project i have listened to and it showed me I need to listen to more of his discography. I can't acctually pinpoint what is so attractive to me from this album but I can confidently say that the production is on ponit and the rapping is really good. The features perfectly fill in the bars that Navy didn't do, this is a great album overall.
This is a certified masterpiece and is top 3 within Ye's catalog. The thing that impresses me the most is that he produced this whole thing by himself. The samples and overall beats on Late Reg are probably Kanye's best, for example We Major is my favourite Kanye song ever and top 5 out of all of his songs. The album runs flawlessly through the whole runtime and delivers his second best to best project.
The first project I have ever heard from Benny and it is absolutely everything I expected. I have already heard Crowns For Kings before and thought it could be a great project to listen to first. That definitely payed of as this EP is really good for it's shorter runtime. I really enjoy Bennys verses through this whole EP and his great lyricism is on full display.
Man this album - or rather song - absolutely blew me away. The dreamy production through the whole 35 minute runtime is perfection. It really shows that the whole group put everything they had into this album. I need to check out some of their other work and I hope that it is just a fraction as good as this masterpiece.
It is really good in all aspects. Pharrell absolutely cooked on the beats which were perfect for the brothers' rapping. Malice was my standout from this album his rapping was on another level, even on tracks which i think of less he was definitely in the spotlight. Pusha T also did very well with his part I just prefer his brothers rapping this time. The only thing keeping this from getting the perfect score so many others gave it is the fact that some tracks just don't present me ... read more
This album was a little too much for me to listen to in one take but still it is incredible. Peggy on the beats went of with the samples and Danny with his goofy voice fit perfectly. I rarely enjoy experimental music but this was really good especially from a rap perspective even is the bars weren't the best. Love the project it's probably Peggy's best and Danny second best behind Atrocity Exhibition.
I mean it is THE hip-hop classic ofcourse it's a hundred. Nas delivered a few top 10 rap verses of all time with features delivering the rest. And all of this on some of the best boom-bap production of all time. The album consists of multiple top 10 tracks of all time which solidifies it as a top 5 best album of all time.
Boldy's rapping was as good as ever on this album. His flows, rhyme schemes, storytelling was amazing and on the level of quality as always. The only thing separating this from The Price Of Tea In China is the production. Ofcourse it was The Alchemist and he made good beats, just not as memorable and hard as the albums predecessor.
It is really hard for me to not compare it to it's predecessor but it just doesn't reach Food & Liquor's level. Saying that it is still a good lyrical performance with good writing and great choice of beats from Lupe and Soundtrakk. It just lacks the deep conceptual values his debut provides and just runs for a little too long.
Although it get overshadowed by both of the 2004 releases from DOOM it is still an amazing listen with great stand out tracks. The production is what really stands out to me, DOOM went off on the beats and on the rapping too.
This is probably the best cloud rap mixtape ever made. Gianni worked wonders on the productionand Chris Travis was exceptional with his rapping but more with his flow.
This album was a special listen. Obviously i knew some songs before listening to it front to back but the qualtiy of every single song absolutely blew me away. Kanye's soulful production is one of a kind and is really special for a debut album, although some bars are kind of corny it really fits into the scape of the album and young Kanye. Overall this is a perfect debut album with perfect production, features, rapping and writing.
MBDTF is just amazing at everything it is supposed to be. I really love this album for everything it gave to me. Runaway is still probably one of my favourite Kanye songs and it still perfectly describes him to this day. I also still can't believe how he managed to put so many bangers and generational songs on this album. If it were not for Monster or the song having the beat of the first few seconds and having better verses this would be his best, most cohesive and most ambitious project ... read more
Oh Lupe. This album is the point of what hip-hop is supposed to be. It's produced perfectly and Lupes rhymes, bars and schemes are just insane, it's also got feel good vibes with some tracks that give me nostalgia even though I wasn't even bron when it came out. It is still a perfect album front to back and I will return to all the songs for a very long time.
With all the Kendrick vs Drake beef going on and the apology and now even scrapping half The Fall Off I still see something great from this mixtape. The lows go quite low but the highs are undeniable Trae the truth in Ibiza is a perfect track and is arguably top 10 in his catalogue.
This is a really good comeback for Ye, from all that twitter stuff and the ai bullshit of vultures 1 and 2 and donda 2. It's actually a good listen even for a rushed, multiple-time delayed album that was left unfinished, but Ye's talent still shines through all the dark pieces of the album and delivers something great. The mixing isn't great and a bunch of the tracks feel unfinished with the 1 to 2 minute length, still most of the short tracks are absolutely goated and if he ... read more
Ngl haven't heard the first one front to back but if it is as great as they say this is really good for a sequel. The variety of beats, flows, features and bars is insane. Freddy goes off on basically every track and The Alchemist went crazy for these beats. Also got to shout out JIDs feature it is insane how this man is able to flow on every type of beat known to man.
This is a perfect album, with it's relaxing, chill melodies it just makes me forget about everything else going on and just enjoy the present moment. Absolutely love the little bit of rapping on it, it just fits so well on Nujabes' beats. This guy was just a musical genius, I have never heard something like this before and it just opened my mind. RIP
