Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind

After the epic "Number of the Beast", Maiden have proven that they can still make quality with a new vocalist. Unfortunatley for the band, Clive Burr got fired, and was replaced by Nicko McBrain. Burr did some of the best drum beats, present in the first three albums. So, does this album live up to the expectations of NOTB? Will Nicko play the drums as good as Clive? Well, this album should answer those questions.

After the Killers tour, Paul Di'anno got fired from the band. When Paul got kicked, the punky influences of the first two albums left with him. It's a bit of a shame that Paul left, maybe it was for the best, out Paul, in Bruce, second to Dio in terms of metal vocalists. So is NOTB really as good as people say it is, or is it overrated?

Invaders: 8/10
The beginning drum - bass riff seems promising, and Bruce does a good performance, however this song isn't really special compared to what else ... read more

Prowler: 8.5/10
The first Iron Maiden song I've ever heard so it holds a special spot, great riff as well. Quite unusual lyrical themes for Maiden.

Sanctuary: 8/10
Great chorus song, great riff, great vocal and bass performance. A fun live song, one of Maiden's punkiest song, just a solid song

Remember Tomorrow: 8/10
A fine ballad, great vocal performance, builds up to a great solo.

Running Free: 8.5/10
Great drum opening, iconic bass riff, a catchy chorus, a live favorite, excellent ... read more
