Minimalist disco dominates, with varying results.

On Hot Space, with the John Deacon/Roger Taylor rhythm section continuing to write funky songs and with a vocal contribution from David Bowie, Queen offers a bit more than bluster.

Frankly, "Under Pressure" is the only reason most listeners remember this album, which is as much a testament to the song's strength as it is to the rather desultory nature of the rest of Hot Space.

It would be lovely to report that Hot Space is a lost classic, its lowly reputation a result of snobbery, but it isn't, despite the occasional flourish like Back Chat and their frontman's project-driving efforts. Never the most restrained performer to start off with, Mercury nearly ruptured himself trying to make Hot Space work, with some fairly excruciating results.

Yes, this is the worst Queen project, but I honestly cannot understand the continuous slander this album gets. It's not horrible by any means, it's just underwhelming.

Uma das piores merdas que eu já escutei em toda a minha vida, tem 2 músicas que se salvam nesse lixo, e são justamente as com envolvimento do Bowie (cool cat só na demo no caso)

Hot Space is a misunderstood album that successfully combines funk, pop, rock, and soul while still delivering great songs
