A pleasant and fun time. Some songs sound a bit too similar at times, but the ones that stick out have been on repeat for the past week and a half. Great listen overall.
Very quick and chill Album. Gives me a lot of Two Door Cinema Club vibes. Overall, I'd say it's worth at least one listen.
Nice little LP from Harry. Sort of gives me Twenty One Pilots vibes. There's nothing too special on this album, but there are some nice mood fillers, especially with Taste Back.
Kind of disappointed with this version. Don't get me wrong, it's still good, but they really set themselves up for failure by choosing to release it in a HEAVILY edited state. Like seriously, the original was so much better, and the one they chose to release felt more like a demo rather than a refined piece. Also, why the decision to release it on a random Tuesday around when the trend was already dying, rather then releasing it when everyone's ears were glued to the original ... read more
A very interesting and creative project from A$AP. This is my first time checking out some of his work, and while it's not really my style, I can appreciate what he's done with his career. There are definitely moments throughout that are enjoyable, and the production definitely shines.
Oh boy, a new Logic so- MORGAN FREEMAN?!?!?!?!?
Truthfully, I love the Logic segments, but Morgan Freeman's section being 6 minutes is a little long. I'm sorry. Morgan Freeman is amazing, and I'm glad he lent his voice for this project, but I really wish that Logic's verse was a separate track entirely. If it was, I'd give this closer to a 9.
On first listen, I think this is quite alright. It’s refreshing, but I don’t really think it does anything to move the needle. Still, I like it
2026 is here, and Shirobeats kicks it off on a high note with the release of their fourth full-length album, We Are So Back. They didn’t do it alone, bringing back their producer buddy Kiwwi for their second major project together. I had the pleasure of attending their listening party, and I had some nice things to say. In three words, I told them this: Wonderful job, guys.
Before I begin this review, I want to share a New Year’s resolution I made for myself, as it gives insight to ... read more
A very brief, yet nice project. There's nothing too fancy on it, but there are some moments are are pleasant to listen to. It's all around a very nice vibe, and a good album to listen to if you want a short one to end off the year
Wonderful album from start to finish. The jazz elements give me Samurai vibes. A true culmination of some of the best that the hip-hop-jazz fusion has to offer. Definitely give it a listen if you haven’t already
Been meaning to review this for a hot minute. Safe to say, it's pretty nice.
Singer-Songwriter Gigi Perez got her big break when her song "Sailor Song" blew up on TikTok. With this newfound success, she decided to capitalize on the hype and release her first album "A The Beach, In Every Life".
Normally, I'm not a big fan of TikTok albums. It's usually because I didn't like the song that blew up, and the album just that song but 10-12 more times. ... read more
Honestly, there was some solid ideas on this EP, that was semi-ruined by some creative choices, but otherwise, I thought it was a passable project. This guy was someone I grew up listening to, and listening to new tracks of his brought me back to that time. This definitely feels like a project tailored for his fans, who seem to be taking the reception pretty well.
Okay, I think it's time to address the elephant in the room.
bbno$ just dropped his long anticipated album, a self-titled collection of 21 songs that marks one of his biggest releases to date. From 2023-now, he's seen a significant boost in streams and collabs, making this the perfect time to drop a full length lp containing his newest hits. However, I find that in a lot of ways, this album falls short of expectations.
I'm going to keep things brief while still trying to get my ... read more
Well, I promised a review of this album, and here it is.
Black Country New Road's "Ants From Up Here" is arguably one of the best albums of all time. Combining indie-rock and folk-pop, this band manages to captivate the entire AOTY website with just their second release. It's difficult to create a project so universally liked, but BCNR has managed to do it twice.
The mixing is some of the best I've seen on any album. The production quality and sound design really ... read more
This is the first time I've heard of this artist, but I figured I'd check it out after seeing them make a post on Twitter. Safe to say, this album is incredible.
acloudyskye is criminally underrated, and delivers an amazing performance throughout. I am a sucker for indie-rock, and there is no shortage of bangers. It's only 9 tracks, but each of them feel unique and stand out in their own ways. I never felt bored while listening, and it always felt like there was something new ... read more
Really fun and solid indie-pop album. Lots of incredible moments on this track. Not a single skip.
Genuinely one of the coolest albums the band has done.
I was able to listen to the album at a listening party for one of my local record stores. It was the first time I had ever done something like that before. My honest thoughts: the album is incredible, and a great closer to the story that they have spent over a decade building up to. While Clancy felt very similar to Blurryface, Breach is 100% similar to Trench, from both a songwriting and production perspective.
It's incredible ... read more
Beautiful EP. I’ve loved these guys for so long, and they were the reason I got an AOTY account. I’m proud of how much they’ve improved over the past few years. Hope to see them continue to develop as time goes on
