Rest in peace to one of the most sensual and talented men to ever live.
I loved the first record, but this second album feels so much more solidified and focused. Gonna be my fall/winter album for sure.

Seth is one of the true folk mainstays in the Michigan music scene and this album, which he recorded to 4 track in the first lockdown, is beautifully simple, straightforward, and magical. Just honest songwriting and uplifting messages of love and positivity. I really needed to hear an album like this one this year, and Seth seems to always be right around the corner with a feels canon loaded and ready to fire. Big love buddy.
This is dope. This is also my first listen to Avenade. I'm 'bout to run my spotify account into the ground digging through the rest of their discography.
Just an immensely gorgeous record. This feels like a solo album outright. Abyskiss, to me, felt more like rough outlines and demos of what would potentially become Big Thief tunes. songs feels much more fully realized, both in recording quality and substance. The addition of instrumentals is a big plus for me, some very relaxing vibes that remind me of hanging out backstage at a local folk festival. Very happy that Adrianne let us join her on this sonic trip to a cabin in the mountains.
The sound design on this record is incredible. That, paired with Daveed not mincing a single fucking word, makes this album rock solid.
This album would be a 1000 if the scores went that high. Anyone who thinks this isn’t his best record is wrong. Fight me.
Or just chill to the album and have an amazing time.
You’re all loved.
You know what, I really enjoyed this album. I've found myself coming back to tracks like Roadkill and The Birthday Party and enjoying the slightly alt-country vibe they give off. For sure too long, for sure it sounds like they smashed two random albums together to make it, but those two album are still pretty damn good.
Where as pervious Fleet Foxes albums take you down spirals and mazes to solve and study, Shore is a relaxed walk on the beach that allows you to exhale and feel. Something that was deeply, deeply needed this year.
Shit, this one got to me. I can get behind this reunion in a big way.
This album was much more than I expected. This is more than a B-sides record. This is a cohesive album that continues to deliver song after song.

I have a feeling my rating on this is going to increase in the near future. I'm really loving the overall vibe of this record. SM has captured an emotion not only with the lyrical content of this record, but the production and instrumentation choices as well. Like the saying goes, people won't always remember what you say, but they'll remember how you made them feel. This record makes me feel something, and I'm looking forward to exploring that feeling more in depth with more listens.
I had a 4 hour drive today, so I put on this record, and then put it on 7 more times. This is a perfect distillation of everything that I loved about Skylight and Cardinal and paired it with some of the best production and recording quality the band has ever had. It’s unbelievably catchy is easily going to be in my top 10 for 2020
Favorite Tracks: Dotted Line, Spiral, The Alarmist, No Drugs, Moment, Hairpin, Phase, Endless, Alcove
Least Favorite Track: Neighbor
This is such an underrated album and I have always thought so. The album is sublime and mystical, the drumming is stellar. Not only does the drummer have a deep pocket, but the drum arrangements are unusually complex and off the beaten path. One of my favorites.
