Muse - Nightshift Superstar
85

Bumped up my rating from 80 to 85. Song slaps, like, really hard; not as hard as the two singles that preceded it, but good nonetheless. Interestingly, my favourite parts were the verses and pre-chorus, it's just so catchy and vibey. The chorus, and the 'breakdown' that was teased a while ago still hits though, just not what I expected from what they teased.

All-in-all, good Muse song. Pretty much still hyped for the new album.

Muse - Cryogen

We are so fucking back.

ERRA - silence outlives the earth
65

Erra's 'the silence outlives the earth' is a decent attempt at blending metalcore/djent with synths and cool electronics. Unfortunately, the album gets "samey" as it went on.

The first three songs are really cool - probably my favourites. Stelliform has thiss cool guitar lick which is simple, but very effective; the chorus also slaps. The same can be applied for Further Eden. Gore of Being is a bit more aggressive, but it blends good melodies with chunky riffs and ... read more

DON BROCO - Nightmare Tripping
75

My first Don Broco album. I can say that I like the mix of rock, metal, and pop elements in this one; has some really catchy and great choruses. It has this "experimental" side to it, like how it jumps through some notes and even changing some time signatures here and there, which I appreciate. Makes some songs fun.

I'll say though, that the production and mixing in this album is annoying, sometimes. Dan Lancaster, a longtime collaborator of Bring Me the Horizon (and now Muse), ... read more

Muse - Be With You
65

Damn, they really tricked us with those teasers huh. I wasn't looking for something as heavy as Unravelling; the reason I liked that song because it has cool songwriting—this one doesn't. It's just... blegh.

Filler.

EDIT (2026/4/7): The song grew on me, a bit. I think it's still meh, but it ain't that bad; has some interesting bits here and there that "sets it apart" from a regular pop rock song. Could've been better though.

Hayley Williams - Parachute
95

Heartbreaking, and catchy - which is not surprising coming from the Paramore frontwoman (After Laughter). The lyrics are just... amazing, and complement the powerful and emotional vocals of Hayley. Just a really good track.

I Prevail - Into Hell
45

Late review, but, the chorus is just straight-up a rip-off of a 'ONE OK ROCK' chorus - Taking Off.

Muse - Unravelling
87

At first, I thought it was good but not too gaga for it. The song has since then grew exponentially on me, and I've been obsessing over that chorus for days now, and the whole song is just great. Though if I have to nitpick, the song (recent Muse songs in general) have been a bit too formulaic; it follows a kinda generic verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus structure which I have mixed feelings about. All-in-all, a really great Muse song.

Architects - Everything Ends
62

I like the chorus - it's really catchy. Everything else on the other hand... meh—it's forgettable.

Coldplay - Moon Music
53

MOTS Vol. 2 is an upgrade from Vol. 1, although not much. Meh. The band tried to get "more serious" and be "experimental" with the second volume of the Spheres, and in my opinion, they didn't do that much.

Lyrics. The biggest issue that I have with this (and some of the songs off of Vol. 1) are the lyrics. Chris' writing in this one is probably the worst (so far), and some of the things he says here is just... so shallow, incomplete, and borderline corny (and ... read more

Coldplay - feelslikeimfallinginlove
65

As a Coldplay fan, it's an alright song. Has more of a "Coldplay vibe" to it than their last output. Though I've wished there's more Jonny and some "drums" in the verses and first 2 choruses; would've made the first section "more interesting". Last part is cool obv.

Muse - Butterflies & Hurricanes
94

The "guitar remix" version of this song adds so much to the album version - which, in my opinion, is quite lacking; still good though.

JVKE - golden hour
64

The chorus and instrumental are amazing; the verses on the other hand are pretty mediocre (even borderline awful) and a bit awkward. Shame because I really like the former, a lot, it just sounds so sweet and sincere and it got butchered by the verses. I would've given this a strong-7 (even an 8).

Bring Me The Horizon - AmEN!
85

A suprise slapper; probably my favourite one out of the 4 singles so far (Die4u is a close one). My only gripe with it would be the production; the guitars are buried, and the mix is kinda over-compressed. Other than that, everything else is spot-on. The lyrics are also way tolerable than those on the previous single.

Muse - Simulation Theory
55

(Late Review):
Simulation Theory is a decent upgrade from their previous work, Drones, which I consider as their least favorable work. Fusing synth-pop with somewhat decent lyrics about... simulation, and their "ever-fresh" tirade of authoritarian oppression.

Some songs here, although featuring "less guitar work" than their previous album, has more consistency and overall likeability; songs such as 'The Dark Side' is more memorable than something like... ... read more

Fall Out Boy - Love From The Other Side
80

A new FOB song that actually feels like a slapper. Good stuff.

Glass Animals - Dreamland
54

My introduction to Glass Animals' discography. When I first heard "Heat Waves" during the pandemic, I thought it was okay, going here, it still sounds and feels like that - it's decent. The rest of the album is going for this vaporwave and dreamy (Dreamland, get it?) aesthetic and vibe, which can be a hit or miss.

Songs like "Your Love" and "Tokyo Drifting" are the main slappers here, while songs like the single I previously mentioned and "It's All So ... read more

Waterparks - SELF-SABOTAGE
65

Chorus slaps; the guitars in the verses are cool; decent song overall. Caught my attention way more than their last project.

Muse - Drones
40

My least favourite release from Muse. Containing a great concept, but not-so-good execution. The lyrics in some songs are atrociously corny, shallow, and so pretentious. 'The Globalist' could've been greater, but it ended up a lukewarm, mediocre track. Well, at least we have 'Reapers' and 'The Handler' - the only tracks I can confidently say I'll come back for, but the rest... nah.

Favorites: Reapers, The Handler
Least Favorites: Defector, All the ... read more

Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head
100

Coldplay's sophomore effort is their best. Full of bops and moods, it's an album I'll never get tired of listening. It's the best demonstration of how their "simplicity" with the right melodies and instrumentation, can create a grand and emotional album.

Favorites: Daylight, In My Place, Politik, The Scientist, Clocks, Warning Sign, Amsterdam
