Tyler should of said Don't Tap AOTY cos why did the website stop working lmao
A great 30 minute listen. A very cohesive project. Every track is fire. Each track has incredible sampling/production work too. Great vibes throughout. There's not much I can say other than bro cooked. Second half of this project is even better than the first half
I don't wanna talk about track 4.
Can I tap the glass now?
Can we like KICK OUT 21 from that song??? ðŸ˜
I kinda feel like JACKBOYS 2 wasn't worth the hype. Like I liked a few songs here and there that I'll slap into my Liked Songs but then again nothing really stood out to me. The whole project felt bland and boring. First half of this project was well done, but the second half just felt ehhh.
Lyrically there's a lot to take from this project. Obviously i'm not going to go in detail, but there's some disses and other ... read more
An incredible and authentic display of sounds from the minds of Daniel Lopatin and Abel Tesfaye. This soundtrack really brought the film to life. Each track is BEAUTIFUL.
My personal favourites are Dance Until We're Skin & Bones (for obvious reasons), I Feel Like I Know You (the scene where Anima and Abel hang out - and Drive in the film sounded incredible too) and Tomorrow's Coming.
I might be wrong but I can hear OPN's Imago in Please Leave A Message? If so, that is a ... read more
i know they made this just for fun but wtf this goes so hard + first time hearing jason on a tune and he's dopeeee — this a summer vibeeeee ðŸ˜

Dawn FM - The Weeknd - Album LP Review
"The number one station to free your soul, Dawn 103.5"
Having After Hours be the spiral and then making Dawn FM the purgatory you wake up in after the crash is perfect. In January 2022, Dawn FM was a beautiful and well needed era for The Weeknd — one that traded red suits and chaos for a fluorescent limbo and quiet reflection. But this project isn't that. It's not peace. It's a radio station from the afterlife telling you ... read more
"I remember you was conflicted"
I'm not Black so I won't pretend to fully understand what this album means from the inside. But I know greatness when I hear it. To Pimp A Butterfly isn't just an album. It's a full on thesis. It is a spiritual, political and emotional awakening disguised as a rap album. The blend of jazz, funk, gospel and West Coast hip-hop melted into such a beautiful project. Black pain and black joy. It's survivors guilt and generational ... read more
Kiss Land - The Weeknd - Debut Album Review
"This ain't nothing to relate to, even if you tried" (Kiss Land)
If Trilogy was the underground confessional and After Hours was the cinematic peak, then Kiss Land is the descent into dystopia. This album isn't a comfortable fun album. It was never supposed to be. Released in 2013, Kiss Land is Abel Tesfaye's official debut studio album, and it's arguably his darkest and most alienating project in his discography. ... read more
Echoes Of Silence - The Weeknd - Mixtape Review
"Oui j'ai pleuré mais ce jour là
Non, je ne pleurerai pas
Non, je ne pleurerai pas
Oui j'ai pleuré mais ce jour là
Je ne pleurerai pas
Je ne pleurerai pas"
This man certainly knows how to make me cry at 3am. It's so subtle but all the details hidden in the third chapter of this trilogy is beautiful. Continuing from HOB & Thursday, Echoes Of Silence serves as the regret/hangover side of the ... read more
Trilogy - The Weeknd - Compilation Album Review
"Why pretend to trust in me? You'd rather this than be alone" (Valarie)
A perfect way to explain the Trilogy. I've already done in-detail/brief overviews and reviews of the 3 iconic mixtapes (House Of Balloons, Thursday, Echoes of Silence) so this review will only focus on what's different, what's changed on the studio release & the 3 bonus tracks included at the end of each mixtape on this project (Twenty ... read more
Thursday - The Weeknd - Mixtape Review
"Seems like pain and regret, are your best friends." (Lonely Star)
If you asked me how to summarise this project —that very opening line from the first track Lonely Star explains pretty much what the second mixtape, Thursday, is about. This is the middle portion of the trilogy and serves as the "after party" from the events of House Of Balloons.
To begin, none of The Weeknd's projects feel mid or bad for me. This project ... read more
After Hours - The Weeknd - Album LP Review
"My darkest hours..." (After Hours)
The Weeknd's 4th Studio Album After Hours is the magnum opus of Abel's career and is perhaps one of the colder and more chilling projects to exist. It feels like a psychological thriller with a decent into emotional chaos disgused as glossy and synth-pop in the form of an album. Every single track 5 years later has aged like fine wine. This is definitely an album that will go down in history as ... read more
House Of Balloons - The Weeknd - Mixtape Review
"you don't know what's in store, but you know what you're here for" is definitely a chilling way to debut and enter the dark world of the Weeknds first mixtape that defined Dark R&B... House Of Balloons.
This 9 track mixtape is a piece of art that will forever go down as one of the best out there. It really pushes the boundaries of what R&B music was then, and how it influences us now. What surprises me the most ... read more
DOPAMINE - Lil Tecca - Album LP Review
Teccas always been an artist that I've been wanting to listen to after hearing a few tracks from him but I never get the time to fully sit and listen to some of his projects. This is the perfect time to get a "first impression" of teccas music when it comes to albums rather than individual songs.
I don't know much about Tecca nor am I the biggest fan of this genre, but I have to say. This album impressed me a lot. I already heard one ... read more
WITHERED - d4vd - Album LP Review
Logged back into AOTY nearly a year later to just say, whatever the hell I wrote down here I regret now. Whatever this guy has done is disgusting and atrocious. thoughts and prayers to Celest and her family.
