After hearing the two singles ‘The Answer’ and ’Adore’ I got quite excited waiting for this album to drop. Both songs had great energy, decent hooks and the songwriting seemed refreshingly direct. To Pimp A Butterfly is one hell of a statement. This album is loaded with straight bangers while carrying a weight that I haven't felt in hip hop since Dead Prez's Let's Get Free (2000). It has so much depth both lyrically and musically and is the much needed shove forward the genre has been waiting for.
