Very influential to my music taste, didn’t have the greatest execution but has super high highs
Singles had me worried, but wow this was amazing. Freddie Gibbs has to be we one of the most consistent artists of the decade. Even without madlib or the alchemist producing the album, the production is still amazing. Freddie Gibbs even with the amazing production stays the center of attention with his ever changing flows and cadences. One of, if not the best album of 2022.
One of the greatest album of all time. Is incredibly fun to listen to while it also has such good meaning. Each song has its own story while also contributing to the album as a whole. Culture of music was changed after TPAB, Kendrick showed everyone what it took to make a perfect album. Perfect variety, songs, lyrics, concept, features, run time, uniqueness, and is a masterpiece that no one will ever e able to compare to.
Contender for album of the year, very underrated, personal, repayable and versatile.
A very personal turn for Kendrick Lamar, as tis album focuses on a more insightful look into his life, his feelings, and struggles. Kendrick uses each song as a place for growth, with him slowly progressing and figuring himself out as the album progresses. The track list is very consistently good, and while showing us a new side of Kendrick, also shows a new side of his style in music.
Has great moments, but differs to try being as accessible as possible. The skill of Joey Bada$$ should not be wasted on bland production and simple song themes. The album does the best it can for what it is but could have been so much more when compared to 1999.
While the songs are amazing, this may be one of the most over rated rock albums of all time. Still great but nowhere near perfect.
Not perfect, but a must listen for Westside Gunn fans. Great and unique production.
Every Westside Gunn adlib gets me one step closer to eternal happiness.
A matured version of his past mixtapes and albums, uses all of his new strengths an combines them with his old, to create a album that perfectly encapsulates all of Tyler, the Creator and his music. While less emotional or personal then "Igor", there feeling this album brings ca be compared to a sunny relaxing day on a beach. The albums "Sweet/ Thought You Wanted to Dance" is addicting, calming, emotional, and a journey in itself, making it one of Tyler's best.
Simply amazing production, chemistry, and songwriting. This album was one of the building blocks to the type of music I love today, and something I keep finding myself listening to again and again.
One of my close friends recommended for me to listen to MIKE, and told me to start with "Disco!" , and as a fan of other sample heavy artists such as Freddie Gibbs, Kanye, and a listener of "experimental" Hip Hop like Jpegmafia, I thoroughly enjoyed this project. The hypnotizing but simple production, meaningful themes and lyrics is what makes it so amazing. The samples used were very enjoyable as well with a very jazzy vibe. This album also is a great moment of acceptance ... read more
