I'll be completely honest, coming into this, I really didn't expect to love it just as much as I did. Now, I knew going in I was gonna like it, it's BCNR after all. But man, something about this just really worked with me. My Though was that with Isaac Wood (WHO'S FUCKING BACK ON TOUR BY THE WAY LETS GOOO) no longer a part of the band, this was gonna somehow feel emptier, or just Different. And like, yeah, it was different, but not in a negative way for me. While still ... read more
Gorillaz returns to form after a long streak of seemingly underwhelming albums. After a trip to India, as well as the passing of both Damon and Jamie's fathers, "The Mountain" is an album that's deeply personal and emotional, whilst moments of hope shine through. From the opening, you immediately get these traditional Indian instrumentals seen across the album. The mix of Poppy synths and beats, with those Indian instruments such as the bansuri, Sitar, Sarod, and plenty of ... read more
Genuinely one of the most beautiful yet funky albums ever. The production is consistently so incredible across the entire album. From the opening "Orchestral Intro" being well... orchestral, to the next song "Welcome To The World of the Plastic Beach", a groovy hip-hop banger featuring Snoop Dogg and the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. "Rhinstone Eyes" feels kinda creepy and weird, but man, those synths are synthing. "Superfast Jellyfish" Sees De La Soul rapping ... read more
A bit more fun and exciting than "Habibti", and I actually think some of the beats are alright. That's about all the praise I can give it, though.

Radiohead guitarist Ed O'Brien's solo sophomore album is absolutely beautiful. The chord progression, the vocals, the strings, everything is wonderful. I really wish this were longer because it just left me wanting more. The album opens with "Incantations" and immediately sets the tone of the gentle guitars, strings, soft synths, and light percussion. The production is actually incredible. The song builds and swells into a swarm of vocals that feel almost ethereal and ... read more
GY!BE's extended cut of F♯ A♯ ∞ is truly one of the most haunting pieces of music ever written. This really does feel like a desolate planet struck by the repercussions of mankind. One of the greatest protest albums ever. If "Lift Your Skinny Fists" is a beautiful yet soul-crushing piece that makes you feel like you are floating, then "F♯ A♯ ∞" is like watching hundreds of thousands of innocent young men killing each other over an oil company... oh ... read more
So far, this is the longest album I've listened to (at least until I get around to some Swans). I'm gonna have to agree with another review that says "Goated but bloated." This album is incredible, and really my first dive into proper industrial. Damn near every song is incredibly good, and packed full of weird-ass lyrics, insane production, and just deep and dark vibes. This album is about the darkest parts of man, from depression to the twisted thoughts of someone with ... read more
This shit is fucking crazy, I've literally never heard an album so batshit insane, yet somehow so coherent in my life. Brutal Prog is absolutely right. The album is from the point of view of multiple people, specifically corrupt and twisted people who belong in hell. Several themes and stories are being told, but I'm gonna be real, I'm not entirely sure what's happening, I'm way too focused on the crazy ass instrumentals. There are two different singers who swap out ... read more
Endtroducing is THE Plunderphonics album. from front to back every song, hell even the interludes feel so atmospheric. Plunderphonics is a genre, as the name suggests, that is entirely about sampling, literally the word plunder and phonics combined. Somehow, despite everything being just samples, it feels so original. This album really is something special. There is so much happening song to song, from the stitched together lyrics, to the crazy, almost d&b-like beats. It's kinda hard ... read more
Trinket sees the return of tsubi club, a man best known for having 2 GOAT singles and then literally nothing else. I've been a fan of tsubi since the release of "burbank house" his original single, because of his work with Aries. Trinket is an incredibly fun album. Despite its short runtime, I'm not at all disappointed with Trinket. There are a few short tracks that I feel don't add much, namely "strawberry☆chop" and "BUMPR". But even with those, I ... read more
Geese frontman Cameron Winter's debut solo album is a truly beautiful piece of art. Every song on this album is full of emotion and soul. In true Geese fashion, it's packed full of off-the-wall lyrics and somehow still feels impactful and emotional. From the oddball lyrics like "God is actually real. I'm not kidding this time, I think god is actually for real. God is real." from "0$" to the genuinely heartbreaking, such as " Today, I met who I'm ... read more
Before I get into it, I just wanna say this is going to be a little heavier, given the album's context and what it means to me. Also, this review will be very personal and long. Okay anyway. Around October 2022, I randomly stumbled on a video on my YouTube recommended with the title being something along the lines of "the greatest 1 minute and 20 seconds of music you've ever heard," or something like that. Obviously intrigued, I ended up clicking on the video. Little did I ... read more
ok this is like actually good. his writing is still whatever, but like everything else here is genuinely good
Been a fan of this album for a couple of years now, kinda forgot to review it. I actually found this album from CSGO, as there is a music kit for it in-game (which is what I use, actually). This album is super fun and super catchy. Some really good modern pop punk, and honestly, some of the best. I think this album uses its quick 36-minute run time well; every moment feels full, and even the slower songs feel important and don't drag the mood down, despite the heavier tone in them. The ... read more
I knew going into this that the guitar was gonna be good, like it's Jimi fucking Hendrix. But oh my god, was I still blown away. Every note, every string of that guitar is just magical. Literally no one has ever done it like him. And something else that really kinda surprised me was the organ. I don't know who's playing that shit, but my god, are they rockin it. From start to finish, this is just absolute perfection. His death just 2 years later is so incredibly tragic. Also, ... read more
Hands down one of the greatest albums of the 2020s so far, at least top 3. This album is so groovy, so fun, and just so fucking good. From the funky moments to the absolutely gorgeous, this shit rocks front to back. With some of the most beautiful vocals from Mica. Every song really just feels so special, and it's just an absolute bop. Literally every song makes you feel like the goat while listening. There are plenty of crazy and groovy synths. The track "Tunnel Vision" feels so ... read more
