It was not worth 5 years of waiting.
When Carti is actually trying new sounds and isn’t just blasting Rage beats, it’s somewhat interesting. All I was hoping was a new wave of sound that wasn’t just a repackaged version of Whole Lotta Red.
That’s exactly what this record is, a “mainstream” version of Whole Lotta Red. The features are really solid, but the second Carti joins in, the strongest wave of NyQuil hits me. Carti is so damn boring on the album. ... read more

Kendrick’s new album is very interesting. I do enjoy that it’s not much of a concept album. It’s just West Coast vibes all the way through.
Kendrick did make the point on “Watch The Party Die” that the music industry needs to be rebuilt. This could be what Kendrick envisions as the next revolution. Bringing West Coast aspects back into the mainstream.

I didn’t have much expectations for this album, because I had no idea what this album was going to be like. I didn’t think the record would be this good.
From a lyrical standpoint, it may be the most mature Tyler has ever been. Focusing mainly on Tyler’s future. The future of being a father, the future of his career, the future of his family.
