Welcome back, Mr. Toledo, we've been expecting you.
This album is great, man. I enjoyed MADLO quite a bit, despite the common consensus being that it strayed too far from the band's original identity and this seems like more of a return to form for the group. Over an hour of the classic indie rock that CSH is known for and in my opinion, they stuck the landing quite spectacularly with many catchy pieces and portrayals of familiar, core experiences that give this entire album a gentle ... read more
This record is absolutely beautiful. There may be times the vocals get lost in the backing track just a touch but I feel that ultimately compliments the dreamy, cathartic, and yearning nature of the album. Torn between love for another and love for one's self, Spellling's gorgeous delivery makes me feel the intimacy and heart of the album more than I'd experienced on 'The Turning Wheel' which is the only other album I've gotten around to listening to from this ... read more
This kinda sucks.
Bloated, uninspired, and just generally... ugh.
imo, the use of ai, no matter how small, is enough to write this album off as a wash and take it out of your queue. Unfortauntely, I DID like Die Lit so I was going to listen to this project despite my past disdain with WLR as well. All of this is ignoring the stuff outside of the music itself which at best, leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

CLIPPING. IS BACK, BABYYYYYY
2020's Visions of Bodies Being Burned has been in contention for my favourite album of all time over the past 5 years so I was worried going into this that I'd be let down or end up comparing it to Visions and not enjoy this record as much as I wanted to by proxy. Thankfully, that was not the case and clipping. has once again created a fresh, abrasive, and densely nuanced album of industrial hip hop to bless our ears.
Focusing more on the dystopia that ... read more
Not bad by any means but the instrumentals do nothing for me on this record. With a voice as powerful and captivating as Whitney Houston, I want backing tracks that highlight and uplift her talent, skill, and her ability to convey emotion through the cadence and resonance of her vocals. While there are times this record approaches some of the highs off Whitney's first album, I find that the pop aspects of this project contribute to an overall bland and identity-lacking finished product ... read more
DAMN, man.
This record is peculiar enough from in sonic realm to seize my complete attention, it conceptualizes familiar topics and experiences that spark a nostialgic and caustic feeling in the center of my brain, and it has a brutal pessimism regarding life and the world that I always crave the opportunity to indulge myself in.
"Anywhere" is absolutely crushing through its representation of the fear, loss, and desolation of the heart that derives from gun violence and ... read more
I admit, knowing that this album came out when I was 12 made it just a bit less enjoyable becuase I had to listen and digest it in the midst of the mental fog and depression of feeling decrepitly old.
That being said, this aged like milk anyways. Imagine Dragons is STILL stuck on creating the same faux arena-chant anthem that they've been on for over the last decade.
This album is filled to the brim with the tooth-achingly sweet production of the 2010's and mixed with the generally ... read more
