Solid post-punk with a twist
On 'Romance', Fontaines D.C. adopt a more straightforward brand of indie rock in contrast to their previous album, the gothic rock 'Skinty Fia'. Although it has a more contemporary post-punk sound, this album also has elements of shoegaze and (surprisingly) hip-hop. The song "Starburster" exemplifies this with its distorted guitar, atmospheric sound, loud drums and rap-like vocals.

This is the first Jack White project I've ever listened to. I have never even listened to a White Stripes album (though I obviously know Seven Nation Army). So I had no expectations for this album and yet it blew me away.

Don't judge an album by its singles
Dua lipa is one of the biggest pop stars of 2020 with huge hits like "Levitating", "New Rules" and "Cold Heart". She also has one of the biggest albums of the decade with "Future Nostalgia", which in my opinion is one of the best pop albums by a mainstream artist of the decade so far.
