Honestly, after coming back to this, its even better than the first time. However, outside of the title track, i feel like it doesn't build to anything, but it doesn't really need to so i guess that's that
defo preferred some of the more downtempo and chuggy sections, but this album is fresh, like really fresh, it takes a lot of older ideas from bands like TDTE and to an extent, the dillinger escape plan, meaning that every single track feels a bit different from the last and from every other band of the last 16 years
fav track - Parting gift
Honestly pretty cool, it has enough cohesion and good ideas to where the time of the album is justified, but all the ideas still contributing to another. Cool allegory of gay horses. From 9 minutes to about 22 (wasnt looking at the time stamps) is probably my favorite bit, but its all pretty good. Cool bass parts too.
this shit would probably fuck live, but as an album, it just sounds like the worse parts of all the BDM bands in the scene and really is just a FRP/ Dehumanized worship album
Shout out my goat @Maul15 for putting this album back onto me. I had always listened to change, but after actually doing a full listen, this album made me realize how cool a total of 5 chords can sound for 48 minutes
