As critical as I am of Teens of Style, I wish this was Teens of Style.

Aside from our new additions, the delightful Optimistic Son and Joe Drives Again (which I immediately clocked was The Drum Strikes Back) there is basically no difference. So I absolutely fucking adore this. Listening to this album, the several times I have, gives me great interest in Morphine, Mark Sandman, and Jazz-Rock as a whole. I will listen to more of this in any way I can. Candy is my favorite song off the album and I can’t get enough of it, it’s so incredible. I very much believe that within the next few years we will see a strong rise in alternative country and I’m excited by the idea. Wednesday is a front runner of this era of alternative country (this caucus of slacker rock as well) and I am all about them. Bleeds seems to be their best work yet, though I haven’t listened to their other albums in their entirety.
