It's a pretty good instrumental noise pop EP. I think I would have liked this more as a more diverse EP with multiple shorter tracks instead of two long ones however. The two long track format still works though.
Well, that was disappointing. Without a doubt Aphex Twin's weakest album, pretty much every track here sounds the same, just like another certain release of his I also gave a 5/10. My favorite track in this album is "aisatsana", not because it's significantly better but just because it's something different after an hour of the same acid techno beats.
And to think I thought "Endtroducing....." was the pinnacle of plunderphonics/instrumental hip hop. Even ignoring the music itself (which is great), the fact that every single track smoothly transitions from one to another and the amount of samples utilized is already admirable. As for the music itself, it's great, with plenty of memorable tracks like "Tonight May Have To Last Me All My Life", "Frontier Psychiatrist", and "Live At Dominoes".
An ambient/drone album. Doesn't stand out too much, besides Limited Space, which I really like.
