Gojira - L'enfant Sauvage

The anger, beauty and power of this entire album made me experience a feeling I had never known existed. The whole time I was hearing this from start to finish I just sat at my desk with nothing but a shocked look, I feel like I just discovered a masterpiece.
I feel like the deeper I sink into progressive music, the more beautiful and intense it feels to me. Oh my god. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to recreate this feeling ever again. Oh my god I want to hear this album for the ... read more

Fleshwater - We're Not Here to Be Loved

It is criminal that this album is only 27 minutes long.
WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE? This is seriously on the same level as the way Deftones makes me feel, like pretty much 100% exactly the same. I am so incredibly weak for the vocals throughout this album, they’re so beautiful and they pair so perfectly with the heavy guitar and drums. I am at a loss for words at how incredible of a listen this was. Honestly, it doesn’t even stop at that- the screaming (although not much) is ... read more

Todos Mis Amigos Están Tristes - Carne

This is one of the most mellow yet intense albums I’ve heard in a while. Some of the songs gave me some sick CSH and MBV vibes and the overall quality of each song was incredible. I knew right off the bat the genre tags for this album had me sold.
Just… wow.
It honestly shocks me how some albums, even now, when it feels like music isn’t what it used to be and I don’t find much newer content I enjoy, can truly outshine all others out of nowhere and be an absolute ... read more

aoty bots try not to be offended by a negative opinion challenge level impossible!!1!!1!1!!!!!!

i unfortunately had the DISPLEASURE of suffering through an entire Taylor album (opinion alert) and apparently i just went through supposedly the worst album from her i couldve possibly picked as a first listen, woohoo.
i dont know what i was expecting tbh, ive never been a taylor fan to begin with but this seriously stinks, like oh my god everything after the first three songs was just buns and the ... read more

Maruja - Pain to Power

hey guys I’m back with the milk- WAIT WRONG SCRIPT-

Okay so it’s been a while, but having my friend Sinless tell me about this album and how good it was made it sooooo worth coming back to write a review because this was incredible.
This album gave me the exact same experience I felt when listening to Porcupine Tree for the first time, a beautiful mix of emotions between genres that people otherwise would not believe can work well together.

Honestly, Pain to Power is a ... read more

prog is one of my favorite albums so i may or may not be biased to the legnth of this song and the progression throughout it but i ... read more

Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IM BACK BAYBEEEEEE!!!!! IM NOT DEAD YET!!!

KINDA I WANT TO IS THE BEST SONG ON THIS ALBUM AND I WILL DIE ON THAT HILL.

Pretty Hate Machine is an example of a perfect early album. You can feel how experimental these songs were compared to Trent’s later projects— this is not a negative comment, though.
Industrial rock/metal is, in my opinion, a heavily underrated genre of music; the sounds of heavy machinery and banging are incredibly unique to this genre ... read more

Geordie Greep - The New Sound

My god, what a masterpiece this album is.
I can strongly and confidently say I BELIEVE, no, I KNOW this is THE album of the year, this is perfect. (also fun fact this is my 69th rating, nice)

Im VERY late to writing this review, to the point me and my buddy sinless made a 1hr 30min video on the day the album dropped (and also my 18th birthday, yoooo).. even after being a bit over a month late though, im hooked and addicted to, quite literally, this new sound.

Geordie is an extraordinary ... read more

I swear to god Geordie is just going schizo with these lyrics WHAT IS HE SAYING SOMEBODY HELP HIM.
On a serious note, this song is so god damn weird but I’m pretty sure the fact it’s supposed to be some sort of concept album, it adds meaning to the weird aspect of the music and uncomfortable shaking feeling it may bring while listening.

I enjoy this song not because of the music (even though it’s fire), but mostly because of the concept it’s trying to reach, and the ... read more

2024 has been an insanely good year for music, which is honestly shocking because music as a whole has been quite bland for a little while
So when I tell you Holy, Holy has been holding me by a god. Damn. Chokehold.
I’ve been so GOD DAMN HYPED FOR THE ALBUM JUST FROM THIS SINGLE ALONE. I swear every time I listen to this I want to listen to it again and again without stopping, I have to stop listening to this on repeat but I CANT HELP MYSELF it’s the only thing I can think about ... read more

black midi - Hellfire

God damn that was so incredibly peak.
The first thing I thought of while enjoying this album was the fact that if I listened to this back then before getting into this type of music I would’ve thought this was the worst thing my ears have ever had to experience GAGHAHAHAHA
Hellfire is an amazing combination of the past two albums, and all 3 of them are just perfect but DAMN this went especially hard.

Only downside now is if I try to play my taste in music on the aux I’d probably ... read more

Porcupine Tree - Deadwing
99

Deadwing was an incredible listen, and I was very happy to come back to yet another Porcupine Tree album after being blown away with Fear Of A Blank Planet.
Whilst FOABP is a 100 and I gave Deadwing a 98, in my heart this album is also a 100; but since I’m being serious while reviewing these I sadly have to put a fair and honest review (though I am incredibly biased and I think this album is near perfect).
Something I find extremely interesting about this album, is the fact it’s ... read more

black midi - Cavalcade

Yet another amazing album from Black Midi, though I find this one so much more beautiful, rather than the previous one being more insane and energetic.
Some of the songs on this album DID have energy, however this track list was more elegant in terms of most of the feel of the songs here, it’s a great feel of both worlds depending on which album you prefer lol
Unsurprisingly, another near perfect score, Marlene Dietrich was just a BIIIIT too slow for my liking but I think it’s ... read more

black midi - Schlagenheim

I think if I listened to this back when I started reviewing music and had little to no original/more open taste I lowkey would’ve hated this, but after a few albums and new genres I’ve discovered and given chances to DAMN THIS IS FIRE
Honestly, it is definitely difficult as I’ve been told to get into this type of music if you’re new to getting into albums and stuff, but you come to appreciate how good insane shredding and silly goofy vocals and writing can do.
I was ... read more

I was sooo hyped for this album when it first dropped… depression got to me and I didn’t listen to it until months later lol.
I think it’s a solid album, some songs are definitely just kind of.. basic or just not the best in terms of quality of BMTH, but it is definitely a good album overall.
My favorite part is being able to hear Oli’s screaming, honestly you don’t realize it for a while just how much we’re missing his vocals when they’re making ... read more

Muse - Origin of Symmetry

This album lowk goes absolutely crazy, like the guitarist goes absolutely Buck wild with the shredding and I’m ALL. FOR. IT.
And oh. My god the vocals.. hmmnssnsnn GUHHHHHHHH.
Muse is sooooo sick with their music, it’s like somebody’s going crazy making this stuff I have such a soft spot for this band lololol

Did we all find out about them from that one song from twilight?????? No???? Thank god some of you didn’t (I’ve never seen twilight in my life)
