Darkthrone - Panzerfaust

Panzerfaust is the final truly great album from Norweigan Black Metal icons Darkthrone.

This album is not quite on the same amazing level as their first three BM outputs, which is a shame since some of the best Darkthrone riffs ever written appear on this record. Bergtatt by Ulver is probably the best place to start for anyone unfimiliar or uncomfortable with the sound of Black Metal.

This album sees the use of ambience and synths take a bigger role than ever before, I’d say that ... read more

Immortal - Battles in the North

Not my favorite in the Immortal catalogue but ”Battles in the North” still features some great icy riffs and some great Abbath drumming, even though everything doesn’t come together so well at all times.
