The ultimate love or hate record in Darkthrone's discography, "Panzerfaust" was a record that I continuously avoided. Why? Well, if you're into this band, you likely already know the reason: the vocals. "Panzerfaust" is famous, or perhaps infamous, for housing Nocturno Culto's most garish singing, with it being constantly belted and overly loud. So I decided to re-listen to this Darkthrone album, as I can now say with confidence this is my fav metal album of all time! The lo-fi production with the INSANELY gross vocals are so incredibly amazing and work like a charm. Some of Darkthrone's catchiest songs are on here. Tracks like 'Triumphant Gleam' and 'Quintessence' get stuck in my head quite regularly when I think of black metal. Anyways yeah this thing hits like a truck and is untouchably phenomenal!

Ultimo álbum da fase clássica da banda, que homenageia as raízes do Darkthrone, muito do que se escuta aqui me remete na hora aos estilos de riff de bandas da primeira onda do Black Metal, como o Hellhamer e o Celtic Frost - lembrando muito mais até que o UAFM que também homenageia e se inspira bastante em bandas desse período - e se inspira também em bandas de Doom Metal dos anos 80 em algumas das faixas.
