I think Darkthrone might be the most successful black metal band of all time in terms of acclaimed albums and consistency. They released not two, not three but FOUR, fucking FOUR amazing albums in a row, starting with the trilogy of A Blaze in the Northern Sky, Under a Funeral Moon (these album titles are so good by the way) and Transilvanian Hunger. This is definitely Darkthrone's best album outside the unholy trinity. With doomy songs like "The hordes of nebulah" or the legendary "Quintessence" Darkthrone proves that speed is not essential for creating the most evil songs. However this album does offer fast tremolo-picking songs like the soul-crushing "En vind av sorg". A must listen for Black Metal fans
