This album is everything that made J. Cole's previous projects great, but further refined to be at it's greatest possible potential. It is made with his entire life-force and made to reflect on his entire life. You can tell while listening to this that Cole had taken so long to make it for a damn good reason.
Maybe I'm rating this so high out of recency bias, but this album is peak regardless.
this album is EXTREMELY overhated
the rapping, the features, the production, and the hooks are all great and i really don't understand why so many people hate this album
amazing flows, amazing rhymes, amazing bars
what else is there to say
most of this album is absolutely generational with em being at his absolute best but there are a couple of misses that bring my score down a tiny bit
manages to be both very eerie and very grand at the same time, perfectly fits the cover
MY FRIENDS KEEP FUCKING TORTURING ME WITH THIS STUPID ASS AI SONG I FUCKING HATE IT SO BADLY
PLEASE MAKE IT STOP IM GOING TO MAKE IT SO THAT I HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON WITH CHARLIE KIRK IN GAME
it's a shoegaze and post rock album so i am not surprised at all that it was this peak
although i admit that i will absolutely have to listen to this much more to fully grasp it, hence why it can't be a personal 100 just yet
out of the tech n9ne albums that i've listened to, this one is definitely the most consistent
a surprisingly enjoyable album considering the absolutely gargantuan amount of songs that it has
