The only Low record I can listen to as a whole...it's brilliant. Grieving and worried, this record is as humanistic as it is pessimistic, and very calculated in its execution. Excellence.
If Weezer ran out of colors for their 20 year run of irrelevance, would they stop? If so, the next album should be a Sherman Williams color swatch.
Of all the bands to stick around for 25 years, Weezer is the most unnecessary/dismaying/disconcerting/annoying.
It is a meticulously constructed, layered and admirable effort in every way. However, it's two hours length prove to be much more challenging than rewarding. It's brimming with creativity and ideas, but not so much with hooks or memorable moments.
