Very enjoyable. I really liked the diversity present the whole time between songs. The whole album was comforting and fun. Definitely not what I was expecting, especially from an album that came out last year.
Been meaning to listen to this for a long while. I really like his voice and the songs feel very 'smooth'. My favourite is Midas Shadow, can't really explain why but the vibe of it is just different. Interesting listen. If honey was an album it wouldn't be this but we're getting close.
Introspective and sad. Was not expecting it to have this vibe but I did really enjoy it. More synonymous with the type of sound I expect to hear from Mitski these days. Yet another good album in her consistently good discography. The echoey and mysterious vibe that some of the songs has is quite interesting and the songwriting in general seems really good. Genuinely enjoyable although some of the songs towards the second half were a bit less varied than the rest of the album.
Not the worst thing I've ever heard and thats about all there is going on here. At least the lyrics are different. otherwise this really isn't great. Would probably not reccomend or would because it is somewhat funny. Nothing to comment on beyond the fact that its an album of bad radiohead covers with not so great sound quality
Certainly.. interesting? I think it probably is avery impactful show with the images but just listening to the audio and lyrics doesn't grant an incredible listening experience, poignant message I suppose. It should be noted that to me this sounds more like a very well done play-like audiobook. The sounds are not super interesting or innovative when they're there. The most audibly pleasing one was the Tables of taboo radio mix which at least had a semi interesting beat that did make ... read more
Not bad. Not an album I would say is wholly original but its got its strong points. Favourite song on here was definitely Swinging Low as it had a very ethereal feel to it, more so than the rest of the album. Overall solid just not a particularly interesting sound. Maybe I'll revisit it at another time when the mood suits it better and see if that changes my mind.
A classic of french rock. I like every song on here. There's definitely certain standouts like Un Autre Monde which is an all time classic. Its one of my favourite songs ever and I get shivers every time I hear it. Other standouts for me include New York Avec Toi, CA (C'est vraiment toi) and a few others. I'm not usually a listener of best of compilation albums but this one holds a bit of a special place in my heart. A must hear for anybody interested in French music history
One of my favourite games of all time. Simple graphics and amazing execution whether it be visually or the writing. Thsse music while in game is such a good ambience. For a game meant to make you mad, its got a suprisingly soothing soundtrack. Interesting. There is something to be said about the overwhelming consistency and quality in all the songs. They are all distinctly different and they seem to be targetting diferent emotions and moods (obviously because of the different parts of the game, ... read more

I still remember the first time Random Access Memories really clicked for me.
Not in a dramatic, life changing lightning bolt way, but in that slow burn way where an album just keeps following you around until one day you realize it has quietly become part of how you think and feel. It wasn't a dramatic reveal or anything it just became part of me without me realizing it after having been a ... read more
Late night vibe which is when I listened to it. Personally felt like a little bit of a let down. Not extremely interesting beat wise and more of the same lyrically. Sure he has some unique delivery but overall the flow fealt kind of weak and vaguely like a copy of some big names I can't place right now. The redeeming part for me was the inclusion of interesting instruments like that trumpet on headphones. Otherwise has a very Lo Fi beat. As I said not my favourite but it is decent. There ... read more
The riffs are huge, the rhythm section hits hard, and Axl’s voice sounds wild in a way that feels honest rather than forced. There is a lot of swagger, a lot of chaos, and no real attempt to clean things up or make them pretty. It just goes for it. Their fame is self explanatory and this is the album to do it all. I think that although B side has Sweet Child O' Mine is less consistent than side A. There is an aspecti of this album which I'm not a fan of and that is how the album ... read more
There is something comforting about how small this album feels. The melodies are gentle, the lyrics feel handwritten rather than performed, and everything carries this soft melancholy that never turns dramatic. Its sad in a way that feels lived in, not exaggerated. Songs drift by like memories from school days, awkward conversations, and quiet walks home where you think a bit too much about everything. Overall very nostalgic and peaceful, ideal for late nights when you're too tired to ... read more
Honestly. This probably stands at the number 1 spot of "Definitely not what I expected this to sound like" list. This is one of the more passionate albums I've listened to in a while and it has many strong points. The songs are varied, lyrics really well written and even more well performed. To be honest there is no suprise that this is their hit album and I'm a little suprised I hadn't heard about it until recently considering when it was released and how popular it ... read more
Thoroughly enjoyable. Honestly, I really like in their songs how they repeatedly go from more groovy how energy parts to calmer more vocally oriented parts in some of the songs. I don't know the story behind this album and truthfully what originally attracted me was its name and then its cover.
I think there's a lot of unexplored or under appreciated talent in the Latin Alternative scene and although I can't say I've been exposed to tons of it, all of it has been good with ... read more
Its not that bad. Seems to be very overhated to me. I get the dislike because it really isn't a very original or interesting sound but its still well produced? Love Rusts is the second worst rated song on here but its the only one I actually particularly enjoyed so that might say something about my music taste. Anyways not a totally interesting album, just very basic. This is what a perfectly mid album sounds like to me. Not good but not bad either.
The first track is insane. Heavy Pink Floyd vibes which isn't suprising considering they are one of their main influences. I disagree with the reviews stating that the otehr songs are unremarkable, I actually found this album to be really well balanced, putting the second extended songg about 3/4 of the way through also makes for a smooth transition.
The ambient build up in most of the songs is almost soothing and this makes a very chill album to listen to. Archive have a complicated ... read more
Can't say its the album I enjoyed the most. The general vibe of the album is very positive and there are some good songs but it just feels like an inconsisten level of clarity throughout. If it wasn't obvious, California Dreamin' is the clear standout track of the album in terms of popularity but Monday, Monday and Somebody groovy are songs I personally found really good as well. If this did have a more consistent track list then I would have rated it higher but I guess this ... read more
Profoundly devastating on multiple levels. First of all because of how the Kinks continue to be so underappreciated when the DAvies brothers were some of the finest writers of the time. Secondly, because the subject of the album is the seperation of a very close family and thats always something that tugs at the heart strings. Thirdly because a concept album in the style of a rock opera was exactly the sort of musical gamble the kinks were always taking.
This album might be my favourite of the ... read more
This album is fundamentally different. Where a lot of the Kink's discography and albums create an almost indivualistic feel between popular songs, this one is an actual album. I'd go as far as say that this is their best album. One of the key points about a lot of the Kinks previous albums is that they had a few stick out singles and every other song felt almost like a bridge between said singles. Not that I did not enjoy those songs but they simply did not flow as smoothly as a ... read more
