Weezer - Pinkerton

i find myself relating a very concerning and unfortunate amount to river's lyrics on this album. the instrumentation still has the very homegrown, garage sound and feeling of 90s weezer, which, coupled with the songwriting, packages into a something something music review good album.

summer night, windows down, cool breeze, car stereo, kind of blue, godlike experience. every track is just so smooth and cool; this album pulls you in and puts you in its realm and you just float around in there soaked in these luscious horns and amazing solos held together by the rhythm section's swing and some quintessential basslines. i love this thing, pure joy :) good job mile davids this is a pretty good album

fagen & becker's addiction to production and their perfectionistic, meticulous mixing & mastering over some of their smoothest, jazziest fusion compositions led to the creation of this exquisite ass album. insanely iconic opening run here, suave as fuck. steve gadd and wayne shorter's solos on the eponymous track are absolutely insane, my drummer skull explodes every time i hear it. back half pretty good too, i think it's impossible to dislike steely dan. :) yay

i love this album so much man, it really takes you on a journey. every track is so beautifully composed and isaac wood's songwriting/vocals are in their own league on this. i've had the good fortune of listening to this on CD with some decent enough speakers and it was a great experience. the back half is immaculate, The Place Where He Inserted the Blade one of my favourites of all time atm, yea i like this man it's very good man
