I concur with this statement. There's hope. And lots of it, at that.
This was the first RAYE album that I've listened to in full. I'm vaguely familiar with "Oscar Winning Tears", but aside from that, I couldn't tell you much about her. But, after this listen? I want to do a deep-dive into her music when I get the chance.

So, I'm a little bit late to the party on this one. While this certainly isn't "old" Kanye, there are flashes of brilliance every now & then. (Particularly in the case of "All The Love" which feels like it came straight out of the 808s sessions.) After the disaster that was Djesse Vol. 4, Jacob finally deconstructs his maximalist sound for a more simplistic, acoustic-centered approach. What was the result? The highest quality project he's dropped to date.
If Djesse Vol. 2 had stopped at Track #9, I think this would’ve been critically regarded as a really good album by Jacob. There’s some legitimately beautiful gems on here. I’m also fond of the folk-inspired nature of the soundscape in contrast to his earlier jazz fusion stuff. Unfortunately, as defines his compositional style, he just doesn’t know when to call it quits. (Seriously, how do you manage to take all the emotion out of “Here Comes The Sun” ???)
