Feels very weird to write a review on something that nobody knows about but sure. There isn't much to talk about really. It's good, but the 8th track ruins it because it has nothing but noise for 8 minutes.

Kinoteki - The Visitor

I have never heard of this artist, but the album cover looked wonderful and made me want to listen to it. It was worth it. I was under the impression that this thing would drag on and become a blur but no, I actually really liked this. The vibes here are executed wonderfully and to be honest I liked almost every track on here. Even Chelsea Session, which is the lowest rated track. I personally thought it was a cute interlude of some sorts. Biggest highlight is the last actual track, which has a ... read more

Schwefelgelb - Dahinter das Gesicht

I know nothing about this project expect that it's Industrial Techno, plus it's German which made me interested because I feel like great techno tracks come from there. Not all but still. Anyways, it's pretty cool and it really makes you have that stank face the whole way through. One issue with this is that it is repetitive and it can drag on but it's not that big of an issue since the repetition isn't so grating. The synths and drums are pretty good too.

Terminal 11 - Illegal Nervous Habits

This album is on the same label as From Rotting Fantasylands and also has genres that I love in here so I had to check it out. It was worth it because this album is pretty fun and also very great, reminds me of Lauren's older work but less melodic and more focused on percussion and texture. Main highlight is the second track featuring B. Bond which had the most going on and also the most chaotic. Also another highlight is Adcar with this creepy singing mixed with these groovy and complex ... read more

Before I have jumped into this album, I was (and still am for sure) a fan of more unusual music. I used to listen to bunch of Black MIDI (not the band, the genre), years afterwards I got very disinterested in that genre. When I saw IDM was a thing I thought it would be definitely up my alley because my autistic self liked funny random noises. I heard "drukQs" and thought it was super cool and wanted to listen to more. At that period I began listening to more music with my friend ... read more

LuriousWays - Every Villain Is Lunatic

Found this on Bandcamp when I wanted to find IDM made by Lithuanian artists and I stumbled upon this. I thought the album cover looked pretty cool and was in my catalog of albums that I want to listen to. When I found out this artist has an AOTY account I wanted to find out how this project sounded even more. If you're reading this @Lurnatic kaip tavo gyvenimas?

Anyways, this is great. The dark, brooding atmosphere works here beautifully and I might still be biased towards darkness in ... read more

Smajl - rainbow project

Thanks for recommending @Retrostyle739 also I hate this rating number but it is what it is I suppose

I can see the potential for sure, but some songs aren't my cup of tea unfortunately. They're not bad, I just think you should probably keep experimenting with your sounds because even though the breaks sound nice, they get stale when it's the same sounding thing for the whole project. Plus some songs are out of tune which brings it down for me. I'm still interested in what ... read more

Electra OK - trippin' around the city

Hi thanks for recommending even though I am pretty late sorry about that @MakMjuzz888

Sounds nice but it needs more variation, the pads are just static and not changing at all. I found the flute personally jarring but it's not the worst thing in the world. I do like the change up with the drums but yeah. Not bad at all though!

Michael Lamarche - call it what U Want
78

Hi Michael

I like experimental stuff and this mixtape has plenty of experimental stuff indeed. It's pretty fun but the main issue is that the noisy distortion can sound a bit too much and the vocals can get submerged into it but that's just my take. I still like a few songs here.

Compakt - PENTALOGY IV

Thanks for recommending @Elowen

Only thing I knew about this is that it sounds close to Justice, thought I'd check it out because well, I had nothing else to do. This is vibey as hell and I would love to see how this artist evolves over time, because man this EP is truly a banger. The last song is the best one, sounding the most epic out of all of them.

Arca - Mutant

Arca albums always scare me to listen, not because of this album cover but because I just am. I am now less scared because this album was actually pretty damn good.

Massive Attack - Mezzanine

I don't know why but this album didn't fully click with me. It has nice production but I am not really moved with this project.

700th rating. I think this project's cool! Not my absolute favorite because I am not the biggest fan of this kind of music but still has elements that I like.

Clouds - Heavy The Eclipse
92

I only knew Clouds from that one compilation album titled "Evident Ware" by the Sneaker Social Club label with their song "Can't Anticipate", which is my favorite track out of it. I didn't dig deeper into their stuff after I listened to that album until my friend decided to listen to his album. Thought I'd also give it a shot. (He didn't listen to this album though)

I don't know about you, but this feels like a combination of Skee Mask and Burial. ... read more

Since I'm a fan of The Wonky Angle, I thought I might as well check out his music. The album was actually pretty great. I really liked the overall vibe and feeling to it, feels pretty refreshing and beautiful. The melodies and sound selection were very neat and I am excited to see what he'll make later.

Gesaffelstein - Hyperion
64

Safe to say I prefer the more industrial type of music from him.

Honestly I went into this expecting it to be actually good, but unfortunately I was met with disappointment because well, to be fair, this sounds good in terms of melody and sound selection and the dark aspect in this album is good, but this ended being a boring album. Somehow the production/mixing feels pretty muddy in my ears. The album rating would be way higher if it didn't sound like that and also if it had more going ... read more

Dopplereffekt - Gesamtkunstwerk

I love album covers like these and I don't know why. Anyways this album is very interesting and I feel like it will grow on me hard later, reminds me of Kraftwerk but more darker in some sense. The main problem is that it can get kinda repetitive but otherwise this compilation is fire. I don't think you should do that to mannequins though...

Ryoji Ikeda - Dataplex
22

Look I might understand that you may like this album and the abstract nature of this album is interesting but this album made me legitimately physically ill due to the VERYYYY grating tinnitus sounds that REALLY suck complete ass. I hate it and I'll probably never return to this again. There are some decent moments but the aforementioned tinnitus ruins it all.

Venetian Snares - Doll Doll Doll

Every children dead.

This is "If You're Into It, I'm Out of It" if it was more abrasive and scary. I love it
