Bogdan Raczynski - Thinking of You
75

Every time I get to listen to this album I am scared because Bogdan Raczynski has a very unnerving aura and I don't know why. Maybe because he can make either great drill 'n' bass stuff but also whatever the fuck he wants. The latter is what was happening here because oh my god, me being scared was probably the most reasonable way to feel. The vocals are the most craziest and the worst part here, he is not a certified vocalist for sure. The most shocking part is that on ... read more

Pendulum - Inertia
61

This recent Pendulum project is not horrendous but nothing that piques my interest unfortunately. Starts off pretty good but trails off into the road of generic, radio DnB music and they don't sound like themselves at points. The blend of DnB and Metal don't work, they aren't really expanded upon. Bunch of these tracks sound nothing, are forgettable and end up in a big blur. Also that Joey Valence & Brae feature barely existed I swear, while that track is more better than ... read more

Machine Girl - RePorpoised Phantasies
90

First Machine Girl listen and it's pretty damn good! Pretty fun!

Tracks here range from pretty good to perfect.

PinkPantheress - to hell with it
81

PinkPantheress' short debut mixtape is good, nothing inoffensive at all. The atmospheric drum and bass songs here were pretty nice to listen to. Does lack in more variation and depth, not a whole lot is going on. Still a fun short mixtape.

Tracks here range from fine to pretty good.

M.I.A. - M.I.7
45

This new album from M.I.A. is... a thing to say the least. I know, or from what I've seen, that her political stances are extremely inconsistent and changes every nanosecond. She seems very disillusioned, I don't know. Onto the album. When I listened to the album I didn't care about her political stances and just listened with musicality as the main thing in my mind. It's not good, but not absolutely grating. Sometimes it can sound fine but feels too generic for my taste and ... read more

Clouds - Ghost Systems Rave
87

While this duo aren't really well-known at all, they still got material that is definitely worth a listen. Clouds' debut album is great. I've heard their other album Heavy The Eclipse and compared to this, this is way more techno, thumpy as hell and less experimental. The production is fantastic. The dystopian sensation is still very striking here. There are two songs ("(9600) 1991 UB" and "Skeleton Island") that are just fine enough but something I ... read more

SpongeBob SquarePants - The Yellow Album
83

Yo it's bobsponge... So whimsical, unless it's SpongeBob singing then unfortunately it's grating

Lil Uzi Vert - Pink Tape
52

What the fuck was that. Started off decent and then I don't even know what is happening anymore. You got all of them, the good, the mid and the bad. But unfortunately there's a bigger amount of absolutely mid songs, with bad songs taking second place. I respect the experimental aspect of this and I for sure like the idea of exploring more genres outside of your comfortable genre but even then, it's bloated, whole lot of mid and a bunch of painfully boring and bad songs. FUCK ... read more

Flying Lotus - Until the Quiet Comes
82

Got a chance to listen to this other Flying Lotus album and I thought it was pretty cool and had great production, second half kinda falls off though and that's kinda sad but it's fine since it's not by a long shot.

The KLF - Chill Out
76

While I see the appeal of this album and while I think it's interesting, it's just fine enough.

Texas Faggott - Petoman's Peflett
87

I prefer the naked man jumping into the lake cover.

What an interesting and fun project made by a music group with an interesting name. Every time I see that name I can only think of is that "Fighting Words" PSA video. I know that word doesn't mean a slur for gay people, rather, it means "Bassoon" in Finnish which isn't the only language that does this.
Anyways, I'm no stranger to this group, as I've already listened to their EP "Back to Mad" ... read more

Kinoteki - Faith and the Vessel
69

After listening to The Visitor, I wanted to find out about what this artist has in store, because that album was pretty cool and the closing track (Stray Dog) was absolutely amazing. From what I can gather, this and The Visitor are related, this coming first. I could probably see the connection but The Visitor feels more fleshed out than this album. When I looked at the user score of this album I was more worried that it would be pretty barebones, since that's what I was seeing in the ... read more

Mori Calliope - DISASTERPIECE
47

I don't want to jump on the Mori hate train at all. I went in with good expectations because I thought she would probably sound at least different here but I see no improvement... I'm sad now. The production is average at best but still pretty bad, not that unique or special at all. Whenever it sounds good on the first seconds, the production gets muddy, mid-way through the song it gets quiet for some reason and has barely any high end. Her voice is grating, even when she sings, which ... read more

Shinyflvres - Circle Of Despair
82

I think I remember where I found this album and it's when I wanted to find out more Future Garage albums and this popped up as one of the most recent. Although, this is more drum and bass than Future Garage, but it will suffice since the album cover looks sick, plus, Miku. Anyways it's pretty good, got a great atmosphere and very nice production. The main problem is that it drags on, starts very strong and then just ends up being kinda the same and monotonous towards the end, but at ... read more

Sabrina Carpenter - Man's Best Friend
60

hey men and they're HEY I"M NOT A PIG!!!HWTF

I don't know why I was also drawn into listening to this album. Actually, I don't understand myself. But whatever... I still listened to it anyways. Sabrina's most recent album is actually fine enough, but definitely not for me. At times, it is pretty boring to sit through even with its short runtime. The production is good, yet still kind of monotonous. Still had some good moments, I liked the 8th track quite a bit, mainly ... read more

Taku Sugimoto - Opposite
47

I don't know what to feel about this. It's definitely unique for its time but there's mainly nothing happening. This is like staring at a wall with nothing in mind, it's painfully boring.

Squarepusher - Kammerkonzert
84

Very interesting release from him. He goes more into modern classical/jazz territory here and honestly I quite like it. There aren't many IDM elements here unlike his other albums. His composition is definitely immaculate though, he's always been an absolute great composer for long, sometimes I get lost in the melodies he makes. Though the last three tracks kinda dragged on for me but it wasn't horrible though.

Squarepusher - Feed Me Weird Things
100

Rerate + re-review: 93 -> 100 "Pretty cool things actually"

Squarepusher's debut album sounds like the album cover. This was released on the Rephlex label, which is probably the best release on that label so far from what I've heard and it will probably be like this for very long, or forever. I love this album to death. All I envision is some office workers just being absolutely bored out of their minds so they goof off and do silly and weird things, some others just ... read more

domer - domer

Repeater - Terrestrial Activity

I randomly discovered and thought I should listen to it because the label that's on it. I really love this. The first song is the best by far.
