the production is great... for the most part. What the hell are some of these sound effects? what is the point of any of that breakdown on rapture? it sounded horrific. Besides that, a lot of great songs are on here and it's probably their third best album in the discog.
Can be a bit boring at times, i think there was one too many ballads, but machine gun, HOLY SHIT machine gun. i thought safe and sound would be the song of the album, but it has competition. Wide Open is the best shinedown ballad in as long as i can recall. This band absolutely delivered on my expectations.
very hit or miss, Children of light and Break the glass were awesome and i wish the rest of the album built similarly instead of half of it being metalcore slop.
4/5, 4x4 is so astronomically more garbage than all the other tracks it's absurd
It rips... but can modern Atreyu ever actually finish a song? what's with these nothing burger ending sections. Why did Max Cavalera just jumpscare me for no reason
Very fun and enjoyable, Nightmare Tripping (the song) introduced me and this album delivered on the expectations following that song. There's a couple songs that i think are a bit boring on this album, but they still sound nice and flow pretty well.
My hottest take this year so far... but this doesn't feel like Gorillaz at all. Just a complete mashing competition of so much shit into one album that just doesn't mesh.
It's a shame the guitar and drums are catchy but his vocals... absolutely unlistenable jesus fuck

i've been converted to a deftones truther here where others didn't do it for me. Probably because my heart just got torn to pieces. either way, this was near flawless.
