Its peaks and flashes of brilliance are undoubtedly endearing, but upon repeated examination, Eunoia can’t demonstrate itself as the truly phenomenal album that it is so close to being.
The narration kind of ruins the songs for me when it's too much present... I'm sorry, but I truly think it takes a lot from the amazing instrumentals when used in excess. With that said, when those beautiful performances get time to breathe, this suddenly becomes a wonderful project. really solid release from a band still going strong almost 30 years later, i do wish they'd tone down the spoken word a bit though since it does dullen some of the beautiful instrumentals
