Everything Squared succeeds both on its own terms and as a reminder of how original the band was from the outset. Looking forwards and backward with equal acuity, it is a fine achievement.

In the ’90s, Seefeel evolved through shoegaze and post-rock to create their own unsettling brand of ambient dub. Breaking a 13-year hiatus, they’re still finding new magic in old tricks.

The opening, “Sky Hooks” is beguiling, too, while “Hooked Paw” amps up the dub and woozy quotients to unique effect.

Everything Squared is nearly as engrossing as anything from the group's past.

Everything Squared by Seefeel won't provide anything fresh to ambient techno, but it will give you something splendidly hypnotic to listen to while it's on. What the music might lack in words, it makes up in tones and overall vibes. I found it helped provide me just enough to engage with.
Favorite Tracks: Sky Hooks, Multifold, Hooked Paw
When a number is squared, this means that the number is multiplied by itself. For example; 2x2=4 is an operation functioning in the simplest terms of the definition. The main quality of squaring lies in it's cyclical nature, as you can divide from a number resultant of a squaring or chain of squaring back down to the root of the square.
