With Khyrsis behind the board, the majority of his production on Khyrsis & Elzhi Are Jericho Jackson consists of loose, lounge-jazz innards, spaced-out, breeding with Elzhi’s smooth, tongue-in-cheek flow for a significant hip-hop release.
A natural step in the next direction for Elzhi, going back to the basics and aiming for a safer, more generally positive record after recording his prior project in a depressive state. This album is absolutely insane. Elzhi’s lyrical prowess is a given, but this is my first time hearing Khrysis, and his production skills are incredible. I seriously doubt any boom-bap head could find a reason to dislike this album
Jericho Jackson, the connection between Elzhi and beatmaker Khrysis is the perfect example of a successful collaboration! It’s a real jewel of technicality and lyricism on refined boom bap productions.. in short, a true hidden treasure!
